The Pigtronix 2NR is a no-nonsense, high-precision chromatic tuner pedal for guitar and bass. It features a large, high-contrast LED screen and ultra-fast pitch detection software that makes tuning quick and easy for musicians of every skill level.

2NR intentionally contains no extraneous features. There are no alternate modes or opportunities for accidental frustration. The pedal exists solely to help musicians tune their instrument to 440 Hz standard concert pitch as quickly and accurately as possible.

Der Philosopher’s Tone von Pigtronix, eine Kombination aus Sustainer/Compressor und Distortion, wird seit einiger Zeit nicht mehr hergestellt. Nun bringt der Hersteller aus Long Island, New York, mit dem Philosopher’s Tone Micro eine abgespeckte Version des Pedals, das zum einen in einem kleinere Gehäuse steckt und zum anderen auf den Distortion verzichtet.

Famous for its noiseless clean sustain, the Philosopher’s Tone has staked its claim in the crowded world of compressor pedals. In addition to Volume and Sustain controls, the Philosopher’s Tone features a parallel Blend knob that allows the musician to mix their instrument’s original tone with the compressed sound effect. This technique restores natural pick-attack and allows more extreme sustain settings to remain musical. The Treble control provides up to a 6db cut or boost at 2kHz for fine-tuning the frequency response of the effect. The Philosopher’s Tone features true-bypass switching and internal 18V power rails for maximum clean headroom, even when used with hot pickups and line level signals.

The OCD was the first pedal to use Mosfets as clipping devices. Another first was their configuration as "hard clippers connected to v-ref" instead of to ground, as was the norm. These things contribute greatly as to why the OCD has such touch-sensitivity...why they react so well when the strings are hit hard or soft, and why they sound & feel different than all other pedals out there, 90% of which are just slight tweaks of the Tube Screamer.

Mosphoros ist ein weitreichendes Overdrive-Pedal von RhPf Electronics, das Gain nicht als Ein- oder Ausschaltmoment versteht, sondern als fließende Bewegung. Es kann unauffällig als transparenter Headroom-Boost im Setup bleiben und sich mit zunehmender Einstellung zu einem dichten, harmonisch reichhaltigen Drive entwickeln, der stets kontrolliert und geschmeidig bleibt. Mosphoros is RhPf Electronics’ wide-range overdrive built around one idea: making gain feel like motion rather than a switch between clean and dirty. Jahrzehntelang war die präziseste Mittenregelung, die es gab, im Inneren eines professionellen Aufnahmepults verbaut. Kein Pedal, kein Rack-Gerät – sondern ein Großformat-Mischpult, an dem Toningenieure jahrelang lernten, den Mittenbereich einer Aufnahme zu formen. Regista überträgt diesen Schaltungsansatz auf dein Pedalboard und treibt ihn dabei über die Grenzen der ursprünglichen Konstruktion hinaus.

Der vollparametrische Mittenbereich wird über drei vollständig unabhängige Regler gesteuert. Zone verschiebt die Arbeitsfrequenz stufenlos von 100 Hz bis 10 kHz – von der tiefen Körperlichkeit über den vokalen Kernbereich bis hin zu Präsenz und Obertonstruktur. Shape bestimmt die Bandbreite der Glockenkurve, von einer breiten, offenen Charakteristik bis hin zu einer sehr engen, präzisen Selektion. Drive hebt die gewählte Frequenz um bis zu ±18 dB an oder senkt sie ab. Weil alle drei Parameter unabhängig voneinander einstellbar sind, hört der Mittenbereich auf, ein festes EQ-Band zu sein, und wird zu einem Raum, den man gezielt gestaltet.

Die Schaltungsarchitektur sorgt dafür, dass auch extreme Einstellungen musikalisch nutzbar bleiben. Der nachgeschaltete Level-Regler bietet ±18 dB, um den Gesamtpegel nach der Klangformung neu auszubalancieren oder anzuheben, ohne die Arbeit des Mittenreglers rückgängig zu machen. So bleibt das Ergebnis der Klangformung vollständig erhalten, egal wie stark eingegriffen wurde.

Vor einem Verzerrer eingesetzt, definiert Regista, wie das Signal sättigt. Dahinter platziert, stellt es Klarheit und Trennung wieder her, ohne den Klang auszudünnen. Bei bestimmten Einstellungen passiert etwas Unerwartetes: Die Umverteilung der Mittenenergie erzeugt eine subtile Bewegung im Klang selbst. Noten entfalten sich bewusster, Obertöne verschieben sich im Gleichgewicht und die Gitarre wirkt weniger wie ein statisches Signal, sondern mehr wie etwas, das atmet.

For decades, the most powerful midrange control available to guitarists were locked inside recording consoles. Not a pedal, not a rack unit, but large-format British desk where engineers spent years learning to use it. Regista takes that topology, extends it beyond its original design limits, and puts it at your feet.

Rupert Neve's most sophisticated parametric mid design was not the 1073. It was a strip from a console most engineers never touched and most guitarists have never heard of.

The Amek Mozart MZ15-RN arrived in the early 1990s, carrying two fully parametric mid bands that engineers who worked on one still talk about. It recorded some extraordinary things, while the industry moved to digital, the desks went into storage, and the strip became the kind of thing you find in small batches on the second-hand market, stripped out of dead consoles. Nobody built circuits based on it. Everyone kept chasing the 1073.

Regista takes the MF1 and MF2 sections of that module, merges them into a single continuous system, and extends their original ranges in sweep, bandwidth, and gain beyond what the console was ever designed to do. Three fully independent controls give you everything: Zone sweeps continuously from 100 Hz to 10 kHz. Shape sets the bandwidth from broad to narrow. Drive applies a bell boost or cut of up to ±18 dB at the chosen frequency. Together they turn the midrange from a fixed EQ band into a space you navigate with intent.

A state-variable architecture keeps phase coherence across the entire sweep, making extreme settings musical rather than destructive. A post-EQ Level control provides ±18 dB, letting you rebalance the signal after shaping without losing ground.

At certain settings, something unexpected happens. The redistribution of midrange energy introduces subtle movement within the sound itself, as harmonics shift in balance and notes begin to breathe. It is the sensation engineers describe when sweeping a parametric mid on a large-format console. Regista puts it at your feet.
