The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing. Utilizing the MOD slot on all new RockBoards® (except the DUO series), they provide various cable connections to fit a wide variety of needs as a convenient patchbay. With the RockBoard® MODs, you can permanently connect your pedals underneath your board and organize all connections to and from your effects setup in one convenient module. The RockBoard® MODs provide a central access point from your instrument to your amp, as well as your power supply via IEC, and a 2.1 x 5.5 barrel thru power connector. The RockBoard® MOD 1 V2 is a pass-thru box especially designed for guitar and bass players. It can also be used to run several pedals from your board through the effects loop of your amp, or as a central access point to your pedalboard via its 4x TRS thru connections. The XLR thru connection can be used as signal output from your pedalboard to the console or PA.

When we released our original Compressor back in 2011, it quickly became a favourite among guitar and bass players alike who were searching for something more than the typical oversimplified controls found on most compressor pedals. Although our original Compressor sounded great on bass (and still does!) we set out to do even better. 
On top of the full range of features and controls normally only seen in high end studio equipment, such as input and gain reduction metering, independent attack and release controls, a mix knob for parallel compression, and an external sidechain insert, we’ve now added a fully variable sidechain high pass filter, and a two position ‘tone + colour’ circuit which adds gentle tone sculpting and harmonic distortion, giving your bass some delicious character.

It takes your unbalanced guitar input and feeds it through a high-voltage tube preamp then out through a high-end DI transformer and out into a balanced XLR output. You also have a 1/4″ output up top, and you can switch between dry passthrough from the input or affected output from the preamp for the 1/4″ output.

The Mini Mounting MOD TRS provides convenient access to the signal supply of the pedals on the board. Central access to the signal supply is provided by a TRS 6.3 mm stereo jack socket. Since the Mini Mounting MOD TRS uses through-connections between the inner and outer jacks, it is also possible to pass signals in the reverse direction to external pedals, such as Wah. Also, by using TRS stereo jacks, „send/return“ applications (A- = tip and B- = ring) are easy to realize.

My current main board powered by the QC, but with a 1981 DRV since the model from the QC doesn't sound as goo, and an MC4 for switching scenes (which only contains different levels of gain stages), while the QC is in Stomp mode.

The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing. Utilizing the MOD slot on all new RockBoards® (except the DUO series), they provide various cable connections to fit a wide variety of needs as a convenient patchbay. With the RockBoard® MODs, you can permanently connect your pedals underneath your board and organize all connections to and from your effects setup in one convenient module. A uniquely designed steel enclosure made with quality components throughout. My goal was to spare no expense. I realize that sometimes in the world of guitar gear, there isn’t always one answer in choosing the best components and designs, so I just picked my favorites. This includes Switchcraft 11 open frame jacks, and a super quiet soft touch switching system via an internal relay.

I have been working on this project for the better part of three years, as a collaboration and with engineering by Jon Ashley of Bondi Effects. I feel that the pedal is unique in design and sonically unlike anything I have ever heard, especially in the lower gain and boost settings. There is a subtlety that feels more like a vintage pedal than a modification of a classic. There are two circuits present in the pedal, one distortion and one preamp boost, running at 18v via an internal voltage regulator. I made this pedal with the idea to create a distinction for my own sound, and what I found is that it is an extremely useful tool for capturing a lot of different types of sounds. I am most proud of the lower gain side, as I feel it is the most unique section of the pedal, but I must also include that the gain section is extremely sweet sounding throughout, especially for heavy and complex chords. There is a midrange punch that I love and a warmth and thickness that reminds me a bit of a ribbon mic. When the development of this pedal turned into something new and unique, it became the catalyst to starting 1981 Inventions, so I decided to make this the first official release.

The Violet Distortion is a new take on distortion/overdrive brought to you from the collaborative minds of Josh Scott and highly influential Brazilian guitarist Lari Basilio! Using this pedal is like adding a new and ultra-flexible distortion channel to your favorite clean amplifier. The unique three-band EQ sets the Violet apart from other popular JHS distortion pedals. JHS placed the Midrange control before the distortion circuit as a powerful pre-amp distortion shaping tool. This single design choice allows the Violet to achieve hundreds of tones, from overdrive to full-on modern distortion. Treble and Bass controls are located in a more traditional position after the distortion circuit, offering familiar but extremely flexible post-distortion shaping you’re accustomed to.
The Violet also excels at stacking with other overdrives, distortions, and fuzzes, allowing it to fit perfectly into any rig as a second or new primary dirt device.
