Durch das Drehen im Uhrzeigersinn bleiben Saitenanschläge stärker erhalten und sorgen für einen knackigeren, perkussiven Klang. Je mehr du den Regler gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehst, desto mehr werden die Signalspitzen abgesenkt. Der Sustain-Regler steuert die Stärke der Kompression und sorgt für einen straffen Sound und ein natürliches Sustain ohne Verzerrungen.
Das CS-3 basiert auf einer leistungsfähigen VCA-Schaltung, die eine stabile und gleichmäßige Kompression mit minimalem Grundrauschen ermöglicht. Mit seinem charakteristischen, ausgewogenen Ansprech- und Kompressionsverhalten sorgt das Pedal für einen transparenten Klang über alle Spielstile hinweg. Je mehr du den Regler zurückdrehst, desto softer werden die Höhen, was einen warmen, weicheren Sound erzeugt, der sich besonders für Genre wie Jazz und Neo Soul eignet. Ganz egal, ob du eine Extraportion Biss oder Samt benötigst – mit dem CS-3 kannst du deinen Sound flexibel an deine Musik anpassen.

Compression evens out volume differences by lowering loud sounds and raising quiet ones. The CS-3's Attack knob lets you set how quickly the circuit makes this adjustment. Turning it clockwise preserves string attacks more strongly and creates a crisper, more percussive sound. The more you turn the knob counterclockwise, the more the signal peaks are reduced. The sustain knob controls the strength of the compression and ensures a tight sound and natural sustain without distortion.
The CS-3 is based on a powerful VCA circuit that provides stable and consistent compression with minimal noise. With its characteristic balanced response and compression characteristics, the pedal delivers transparent sound across all playing styles. Whether crisp country licks, powerful power chords, or singing solos, the CS-3 is an indispensable tool for better sound.
The tone control makes the CS-3 even more versatile. It lets you control the EQ of the compressed signal. Stronger settings emphasize the high frequencies and create a sharper, more cutting sound—perfect for crystal-clear arpeggios, funky rhythms, and passages that need to stand out. The more you turn the control back, the softer the highs become, creating a warm, softer sound that is particularly suitable for genres such as jazz and neo soul. Whether he's blazing through the blues on his own or rocking with Black Country Communion, Joe Bonamassa's playing is fiery, deep, and powerful. And when he really wants to express himself in a solo, he steps on a Cry Baby wah. That's why we at Dunlop worked with Joe to develop the Joe Bonamassa Signature Cry Baby, specially engineered to fit in perfectly with Joe's system, from the way it looks to the way it sounds. On the outside, it sports a classy copper top with a smooth-finish black body. On the inside, it features large, vintage-style thru-hole components, a Halo inductor (for added harmonic content), an output buffer (to prevent impedance imbalance with vintage fuzz pedals), and a switch for true-bypass or non-true-bypass operation (Joe prefers non-True Bypass as it darkens the high end). With its huge vocal sweep range, this is one of the most expressive Cry Babys ever, and it's Joe's tool of choice to accentuate every soulful bend and bluesy wail. Seine Vielseitigkeit macht das Carcosa Fuzz zum perfekten Kumpanen für angezerrte oder cleane Amps. True Bypass, Tonnen an Output, das Antlitz des “Königs in Gelb“ setzen das Carcosa in Szene für fuzzige Crazyness! Das DOD Carcosa Fuzz verfügt über eine (leicht) übertriebene Mid-Range und sein Treble Charakter stellt im Mix ganz weit nach vorne. Designt um sich gegen stahlharte Riffs durchzusetzen und auch beim Akkordspiel ungemeine Artikulation der einzelnen Töne zu bieten. Allerdings sind mit extremen Bias (AFTER) Einstellungen eine Menge abgefahren kranke Over-the-Top Sounds möglich. Nun nach langem Warten ist dieses einzigartige und langerwartete Fuzz auch in Europa erhältlich.

The DOD Carcosa Fuzz is a doorway into an alternate fuzz universe, where classic tones of legend coexist with splattered and shattered Pollock abstractions. Combining the Carcosa’s wide-ranging AFTER bias control with two toggle positions creates tones that range from porcine fatness to dessicated shards. This versatility makes the Carcosa Fuzz a good companion for dirty or clean amps. True bypass, tons of output, and the visage of the King in Yellow sets the stage for fuzzy madness. The DOD Carcosa Fuzz has an exaggerated mid-range and treble character that help it stand out in a mix. It has been designed to cut through a dense and heavy band but still have great note articulation with chords. However, when extreme bias (AFTER) ranges are selected many wild and over-the-top sounds are possible.
