Das True Bypass Wah-Pad (TBWP) ist ein voll analoges Gerät, das die Verwendung von Wah-Wah-Effekten komfortabler macht.Bei der Verwendung eines herkömmlichen Wah-Wah-Effekts muss dieser ein- und ausgeschaltet werden, wodurch der Spieler gezwungen ist, einen zusätzlichen Vorgang auszuführen, während dessen das Spielen nicht möglich ist.Mit dem Wah-Pad entfällt dieser Vorgang.
 Es genügt, den Fuß auf den Wah-Wah-Effekt zu stellen, um ihn einzuschalten, und den Fuß zu entfernen, um ihn auszuschalten (es ist nicht wichtig, in welcher Position sich das Wah-Wah-Effektpedal befindet).Um den Wah-Wah-Effekt zu umgehen, ermöglicht das Wah-Pad eine direkte Verdrahtung von der Effekt-Eingangsbuchse über den Wah-Pad-Schalter zur Effekt-Ausgangsbuchse, ohne Verbindung zum Wah-Wah-Effektkreis (True Bypass). Dadurch wird jeglicher Einfluss des Wah-Wah-Effekts auf den Gitarrenton eliminiert, wenn der Wah-Wah-Effekt nicht verwendet wird.

True Bypass Wah-Pad (TBWP) is a full analog device that makes the use of wah-wah type effects more comfortable. Using a traditional wah-wah effect requires switching it ON and OFF, which forces the player to perform an additional operation during which playing is not possible. The wah-pad eliminates this operation.

 Since now enough is to place a foot on a wah-wah effect – to switch it on and remove a foot – to switch it off (not important is position the wah-wah effect pedal is left). To bypass wah-wah effect the wah-pad enables straight wiring from the effect input jack through the wah-pad switch to the effect output jack, with no connection to the wah-wah effect circuit (True Bypass). So using it eliminates any influence of the wah-wah effect onto a guitar tone when the wah-wah effect is not used.

Das Boss DD-500, ein High End Delay des japanischen Effektgeräte-Herstellers, kann mit 12 Delay-Programmen, 32 Bit/96 kHz Signalverarbeitung, bis zu 297 Speicherplätzen und einem Looper aufwarten und ist mit dieser Ausstattung naturgemäß in einer etwas höheren Preisklasse angesiedelt. Allein diese Eckdaten sind einigermaßen imposant, aber die Marke Boss und der Mutterkonzern Roland haben bereits in der Vergangenheit – zum Beispiel mit dem DD-20, dem Space Echo oder dem Tera Echo – bewiesen, dass man durchaus auch in unterschiedlichen Preiskategorien in der Lage ist, uns Gitarristen mit amtlichen Delay-Sounds zu versorgen.

The Boss DD-500 is one of the few Boss pedals which are, because of their size, less pedalboard friendly. Therefor, it offers up to 10 seconds maximum delay time, tap tempo and tape emulation.
Other features of the stereo pedal that allows to choose a true bypass or a buffered processing, are modulation, expression pedal and midi input.
Furthermore, you can lead different delays (modulation models) on several channels and run the pedal serial as well as parallel.
All things considered, the 9V pedal with integrated looper provides an extremely extensive menu including tone shaping options.
Nevertheless, the Boss DD-500 which is still produced today is not really legendary and its sound is quite sterile. This is why this digital delay is a 3 of 10 on my cult factor scale.

Das Pedal bietet neben Andy Timmons Signature Delay Tone die Möglichkeit eigene Sounds zu kreieren und als Preset zu speichern. Andy Timmons' mysterious sounding 'Halo' effect is a modulated dual echo sound that has long been kept a secret by the tone wizard himself and he spent decades combining and crafting the sounds you can get from the Keeley Halo effects pedal. Notes from the Halo dance rhythmically, almost creating a reverb diffusion. Those notes are held together with tape-style effects like modulation, saturation, and compression. The pedal comes loaded with Andy Timmons' signature delay tone and you can program your own sounds and save them as presets. Easily bounce between Side A and B on the fly, essentially giving you two delay pedals in one. In addition to Andy's signature 'Halo' sound, there are numerous other rhythmic delays including: quarter note, dotted 8th, stereo rack mount analog delay, and a vintage multi-head tape echo. The OCD was the first pedal to use Mosfets as clipping devices. Another first was their configuration as "hard clippers connected to v-ref" instead of to ground, as was the norm. These things contribute greatly as to why the OCD has such touch-sensitivity...why they react so well when the strings are hit hard or soft, and why they sound & feel different than all other pedals out there, 90% of which are just slight tweaks of the Tube Screamer.
