Hierbei kann über den Drive-Regler der Grad der Verzerrung eingestellt werden, während Volume die Ausgangslautstärke regelt.

Thanks to its analog circuitry and three effect modes, the EBS MultiDrive SE impresses with a particularly harmonious overdrive sound for electric bass. In standard mode, the pedal delivers a sustain-extending overdrive that leaves the low frequencies untouched for a powerful sound thanks to the high-pass filter. In “Tubesim” mode, on the other hand, the EBS Multidrive impresses with a harmonic distortion sound whose authentic tube character adds a warm, natural compression and harmonic overtones, while the “Flat” mode feeds the entire frequency range to the gain stage. The degree of distortion can be adjusted via the Drive control, while Volume regulates the output volume.

Harmonische Resonanz und Frequenzbetonung werden über einen zweistufigen Color-Schiebeschalter umgestaltet, der das Signal durch die Phasenstufen rückkoppelt. Das Aktivieren des Color-Schalters invertiert den Rückkopplungspfad, wodurch eine vokalartige Resonanz erzeugt und Mittenfrequenzen abgesenkt werden, um die Sweep-Spitzen hervorzuheben. Modulation velocity is governed by a singular, oversized rotary rate potentiometer that transitions smoothly from gentle ambient sweeps to rapid vibrato-like flutter. Harmonic resonance and tonal emphasis are actively reshaped via a two-position color slide switch that feeds processed audio back through the phase stages. Inverting the feedback path with the color switch engaged introduces a pronounced vowel-like sweep while scooping mid frequencies to emphasize sweeping filter peaks. Vintage circuit execution incorporates dual operational transconductance amplifier integrated circuits alongside a dedicated quad operational amplifier managing low-frequency oscillation. Mechanical footswitching toggles between active modulation and bypass inside a classic folded-steel chassis decorated with orange graphics and lacking a status LED.

Oft kopiert aber nie erreicht, rangiert das schwer zu findende, originale, Phase 90 bei den Sammlern alter Bodentreter ganz weit oben. Das Original - seit der Gründung der Firma Dunlop bis in die späten 70er Jahre erhältlich – definierte den klassischen Phase Shifter Sound und war in allen Musikstilen zu hören, egal ob Hard Rock, Jazz-Fusion oder Funk-Hits. Der nach dem Kultpedal der Firma designte Phaser kommt puritanisch mit einem Regler aus, über den der Phaser-Speed einstellbar ist. Eine rote LED über dem stabilen Fußschalter zeigt den Schaltstatus an. Das massive Spritzgußgehäuse verfügt über jeweils 1/4" Klinke In- und Out-Eingänge. Betrieben wird der Kulttreter mit einer 9V Batterie, die in einem leicht zugänglichen Batteriefach auf der Unterseite Platz findet. Es ist erhältlich in der ursprünglichen orangenen Farbe.
