The Filth Grinder II contains two separate effects: the fuzz and the saturator. The fuzz is based on a Big Muff-style circuit with modifications: only one clipping stage with MOSFET or asymmetrical LED clipping (toggle switch). The EQ stage lacks the middle scoop typical of many Muff clones. One of the clipping LEDs is exposed and reacts to the input signal (also indicates which clipping mode is selected). The pedal offers heavy output and substantial low end suitable even for bass guitar. The Saturator is a simple LM386 power-amp booster/colouring stage: it can boost/cut/compress the fuzz signal, and features a 4-position rotary switch that changes the input capacitor to filter the low end. The saturator can also be used as a standalone effect. The enclosure is handmade, chemically etched and blackened with a patina finish, making each unit unique. Pedals are handmade by V. Ajomo of Walovoid / DBR with high-quality components and include a lifetime guarantee under “normal abuse”. Operates only with standard 9 V DC 2.1 mm connector.
