Der amerikanische Effektpedal-Hersteller Xotic ist bekannt für seine gut klingenden Overdrive-Pedale. Auf der NAMM 2019 in Anaheim zeigte er zwei interessante Neuheiten, die das Portfolio zukünftig ergänzen werden: den Xotic Super Sweet Booster und den Xotic Super Clean Buffer.

The Xotic Super Clean buffer landed on my board in an attempt to fight a major tone loss issue caused by my GigRig QuarterMaster loop switcher (check out my QuarterMaster review to learn more). Since I discovered that tone issue with the switcher, I started looking for possible simple cures that can bring sanity back to my board. I was really trying to avoid getting into replacing my QuarterMaster, simply because I had a really tough year, full of gear issues, technicians and technical support and I just got tired of it. I ended up getting an Xotic Super Clean and I'm very happy with it so far. My clean tone has never been so good through any pedal board before, with or without the switcher.

Super Clean

The Xotic Bass RC Booster takes the tech from the original RC Booster and calibrates it specifically for your bass. With a whole host of applications, it's easy as pie to shape your tone as well as boosting your levels. Two-band EQ for treble and bass, 15dB of boost and cut, and the potential to get a sparkling clean boost all lend themselves to enhancing your bass tone, rather than changing it.

The Xotic RC Booster V2 is designed to take your sound to the next level. This pedal is a transparent booster which means it won’t dramatically alter your tone, it’ll just push the volume and enhance what’s already there. There’s up to +20dB of clean boost to really step up your volume and help you cut through and you can run it at 18V if you need even more headroom. There’s also a two band EQ for extra tone sculpting.

The RC Booster V2 is a great choice for when you want to thicken up your bass tone and give it some extra punch as well as enhanced harmonics. New to the V2 is the second gain stage which you can use to push your signal harder to really fatten your tone and drive your amp.
