Finally, after many, many requests, Wren and Cuff released the Box of War in a compact Small Foot edition. It is the same pedal as the full-size Box of War, originally housed in a large folded steel enclosure, modified to be able to fit in a standard effects pedal housing. That's it! Same parts, same guts, smaller size. The Box of War is a true recreation of the famous 'Civil War' fuzz pedals from the '90s and Wren and Cuff prides themselves on truly digging into the vintage units they recreate and go to great lengths to duplicate all aspects of the original circuits to the best of their ability, and they have spared nothing in researching this rare, much-loved, but cheaply made famous fuzzer. The pedal creates a bit darker and a bit fuzzier tone than the famous Tall Font fuzz pedals and compared to other Muffs, the Box of War has less output and is also less fuzzy, but it captures the unique woody sustain and presence of the original 'Civil War' pedal perfectly. There is a good reason why the original version became a secret weapon for many musicians around the world and the Wren and Cuff Box of War captures that sound, feeling and tone perfectly.

Wren and Cuff haben das behoben - das Your Face 60's Germanium Fuzz bietet den einzigartigen Vintage-Sound und darüber hinaus all das Volume, das man sich wünschen oder brauchen kann. Germanium transistor lovers, rejoice! Wren and Cuff has done everything possible to make an amazing vintage pedal even better. Dripping with fuzz, super dynamic, trim-pot adjustable bias, and more. Many musicians love the classic round fuzz pedals for their sound, but most of them don't like the traditional low output. Wren and Cuff fixed that and the Your Face 60's Germanium Fuzz offers the unique vintage sound and in addition, all the volume you could ever want or need. Another problem with the vintage units is the way that the Fuzz knob is only useful at the last end of the knob, so Wren and Cuff added a reverse-log potentiometer that widens that range and let's you dial things in just right. They also used Mullard 'tropical fish' out-cap with increased value to allow more lows to come through. The adjustable Low-Cut control can be used to reduce some of the low-end squash, this is a simple but fantastic mod that gives an incredible amount of versatility.

Wren and Cuff haben hart gearbeitet, um ihren Ruf als 'Muff-Meister' zu erlangen, indem sie Hunderte von Muffs und Muff-ähnlichen Pedalen buchstäblich von Hand verdrahtet haben. Sie sind stolz darauf, die Vintage Pedale, die sie nachbauen, bis ins kleinste Detail zu analysieren, um alle Aspekte der Original-Schaltung nach besten Kräften absolut exakt zu duplizieren. Nach all den Pedalen, die Wren and Cuff im Laufe der Jahre gebaut haben, war das Tall Font Russian das am schwersten zu duplizierende Pedal. Während die meisten Gitarristen die alten russischen 'Civil War' Fuzz Pedale für die absolut Besten halten, gibt es auch eine Gruppe, die die ersten grünen Tall Font Muff Pedale (mit den Schrauben an der Seite) aus russischer Produktion bevorzugt. Nach einer genauen Untersuchung fanden Wren and Cuff heraus, dass beide Versionen in Klang, Bauteilen und Werten sehr ähnlich sind. Aber die Höhen sind in den Tall Fonts präsenter und klarer, was zu einem offeneren Sound führt, der für dieses Pedal einzigartig ist. Die Tall Fonts klingen nicht so dunkel, was ihnen eine rauere, direktere Note verleiht, die bei den 'Civil War' Muffs nicht zu finden ist. Die getesteten Vintage Pedale hatten alle einige Unstimmigkeiten und Abweichungen in den verwendeten Bauteilen und sogar den Potis, also entschied man sich bei Wren and Cuff für ein besonders gut klingendes Pedal als Vorlage und passte die Bauteile und Werte so genau wie möglich an. Dabei wurden auch altersbedingte Veränderungen und 'falsche' Bauteile berücksichtigt, deren tatsächliche Werte deutlich von den Vorgaben und Schaltplänen der Originale abwichen. Das Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian verfügt über speziell modifizierte Potis, die dafür sorgen, dass die unteren Mitten nicht zu 'schmutzig' werden und gleichzeitig eine wichtige Rolle für Overdrive-Qualität des Pedals spielen. Der 'knurrige' Sound macht sich besonders gut am Bass und funktioniert fantastisch für satte, aggressive Gitarren-Sounds mit einem 'bösen' Growl. Der Bass-Anteil im Signal hat eine Overdrive-ähnliche Kompression und die Höhen bieten ein volles Spektrum an harmonischen Obertönen, welches die Begeisterung für das Pedal mehr als verständlich macht. Im Bereich der Mitten gibt es den charakteristischen Muff Mid-Scoop, der jedoch nicht so stark ausgeprägt ist wie bei einigen anderen Muff-Varianten.

Wren and Cuff worked hard to gain their reputation as 'Muff masters' by literally hand-wiring hundreds of Muffs and Muff-related pedals and they pride themselves on truly digging into the vintage units they recreate and go to great lengths to duplicate all aspects of the original circuits to the best of their ability. After all the Muff type pedals built under their brand, the Tall Font Russian was the toughest pedal to nail. While most guitar players consider the old Russian 'Civil War' fuzz pedals to be the absolute best, there is also a group that prefers the first green Tall Font Muff pedals (with the screws on the side) built in Russia. After a precise investigation, Wren and Cuff found that both versions are very similar in tone, parts, and values. Very close. But the highs are more present and clearer in the Tall Fonts resulting in an openness in the highs unique to this pedal. They're generally not as dark sounding, which gives them a slight gritty edge and a rudeness, which is not found in the 'Civil War' Muffs. The tested vintage units all had some inconsistencies in the used parts and even the pots, so Wren and Cuff went with one particularly sweet sounding pedal and matched the gains as closely as possible by using a mix of transistors and an important biasing resistor and a capacitor that were a much different value than stated on the components and schematic. Each Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian features specially modified pots that are responsible for keeping the low-mid range from getting to mucky and which are also a factor in the more over-drive type quality these Russians can produce. This boxy-growl also helps make them particularly great on bass, and fantastic for growling, raunchy, less friendly guitar tones with a nasty snarl. The lows have an overdriven compression that keeps things tight, and the highs have a rich upper-harmonic thing going on that'll make one understand the affection some have for this pedal. The mids have the standard Muff-scoop but it is not as pronounced as some of the other generations. Add to that a less gainy / fuzzy tone overall and you end up with a unique Muff with a character all its own.

Das Wren and Cuff Ace Octave Fuzz ist eine präzise Nachbildung des berühmten Acetone FM-2 Professional. Das Pedal bietet ein kräftiges, sattes Fuzz mit einem sehr deutlichen Octave-Up Effekt, insbesondere oberhalb des 12. Bund. Das Ace Octave Fuzz ist ein komplett anderes Pedal als das Tycobrahe Octavia oder das Univox Superfuzz und bietet Musikern so einen Klang, der unter den Octave Fuzz Effekten einzigartig ist. Der Tone-Kippschalter bietet die Möglichkeit, einen stärker auf die Mid-Range fokussierten Sound oder einen fetten, wuchtigen Sound mit zusätzlichem Low-End zu wählen. Wie bei allen Wren and Cuff Pedalen, die auf klassischen Vorbildern basieren, wurde nicht nur der alte Schaltplan als Grundlage verwendet. Stattdessen wurden die Vintage Effekte sorgfältig untersucht und jedes einzelne Bauteile analysiert, um so den Klang eines seit vielen Jahren verwendeten Pedals nachzubilden.

The Wren and Cuff Ace Octave Fuzz is a precise recreation of the famous Acetone FM-2 Professional. This is a bold, rich fuzz with a very clear octave-up effect, especially beyond the 12th fret. A much different pedal than the Tycobrahe Octavia or Univox Superfuzz, this pedal has a tone that is unique among octave fuzzers. The Tone toggle switch provides the option of a more mid-range focused sound, or a fat girthy sound with tons of extra lows. As with all Wren and Cuff recreations, they did not only use a schematic to make this pedal, they actually used vintage units, removed parts, and attempted to replicate the tone of a pedal that has been used for many years.
