Description
The Walrus Audio Highpoint is an all-analog optical compressor designed to provide studio-grade dynamic control in a pedal format. It features a comprehensive control set including Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, Output, and Makeup Gain, alongside a Blend knob for parallel compression. The circuit operates on internal ±15VDC rails to ensure high headroom and clarity even under heavy compression settings. A notable feature is the 10-LED VU meter, which allows users to monitor input levels, output levels, or gain reduction in real time. Additionally, a selectable sidechain high-pass filter at 160Hz prevents low frequencies from over-triggering the effect, preserving low-end definition for bass or extended-range guitars.
