Stärkere Einstellungen betonen die hohen Frequenzen und für einen schärferen, schneidenden Sound – perfekt für glockenklare Arpeggi, funkige Rhythmen und Passagen, die besonders herausstechen sollen. Je mehr du den Regler zurückdrehst, desto softer werden die Höhen, was einen warmen, weicheren Sound erzeugt, der sich besonders für Genre wie Jazz und Neo Soul eignet. Ganz egal, ob du eine Extraportion Biss oder Samt benötigst – mit dem CS-3 kannst du deinen Sound flexibel an deine Musik anpassen.

Compression evens out volume differences by lowering loud sounds and raising quiet ones. The CS-3's Attack knob lets you set how quickly the circuit makes this adjustment. Turning it clockwise preserves string attacks more strongly and creates a crisper, more percussive sound. The more you turn the knob counterclockwise, the more the signal peaks are reduced. The sustain knob controls the strength of the compression and ensures a tight sound and natural sustain without distortion.
The CS-3 is based on a powerful VCA circuit that provides stable and consistent compression with minimal noise. With its characteristic balanced response and compression characteristics, the pedal delivers transparent sound across all playing styles. Whether crisp country licks, powerful power chords, or singing solos, the CS-3 is an indispensable tool for better sound.
The tone control makes the CS-3 even more versatile. It lets you control the EQ of the compressed signal. Drei Kanäle stehen zur Verfügung und natürlich auch eine Nachbildung des typischen Vibrato/Tremolo-Effekts. Dazu gibt es diverse Boost-Funktionen und auf der Lautsprecherseite stehen sechs verschiedene Cabs zur Auswahl.

I know that Universal Audio did a good job of capturing the spirit of an AC30 in the UAFX Ruby ’63 amp emulation, because excitement is the first thing I felt. The Ruby ’63 is lively, explosive, reactive, clear, and, yeah, even pretty chimey. And I was very impressed at how it imparted those qualities to decidedly non-Vox-y black-panel Fender amps, and vintage Fender cabinet emulations in UA’s OX Amp emulator. You know how a lot of pedals claiming to be an amp-in-a-box tend to be vaguely similar in terms of EQ and gain structure, but miss the details? The Ruby ’63 is not that. It’s an exhaustively executed emulation that takes you several miles further down the road to true amp-ness. And it sounds and feels awfully close to the real thing.

The original design is hand-built, point to point using components that conform to 1970s specifications to deliver that classic sound previously available only through hard-to-find vintage pedals. The battery-only, low-current effect uses germanium diodes to create massive gain for all of the classic tube amp crunch you might desire. A tweak of the Distortion knobs lets you adjust the balance of clean to distorted signals for a touch of rich texture or a sonic assault of retro crunch, while the Output control gives you enough power to boost your signal through the mix for your big solo.

Mit den Reglern Loudness, Sustain, Filter, Scoop und Crunch lässt sich der Sound von sattem Crunch bis hin zu purem Fuzz-Chaos gestalten. Der Filter bietet eine charakteristische Bandpass-Sweep für Volumen und „Biss“, während der Scoop-Regler Mitten absenkt oder einen neutraleren Mittenbereich ermöglicht. Im Inneren steuern zwei Mini-Schalter: Voice, der die Intensität des externen Scoop-Effekts von leicht bis stark reguliert, und Clip, der zwischen unterschiedlichen Dioden fürs Clipping wechselt – so bekommt man entweder einen weicheren oder brutaleren Sustain. With its Loudness, Sustain, Filter, Scoop, and Crunch controls you can go from tight, saturated crunch to an all-out fuzz apocalypse. The Filter offers a trademark bandpass sweep for tonal girth and sizzle, while the Scoop mid-cut tone stack lets you sculpt classic mid-scooped or more flat midrange tones. Internally, you get two mini switches: Voice, which varies the strength of the mid-scoop effect (from light to heavy), and Clip, which selects between diode clipping options for smoother or more aggressive fuzz sustain. Ruggedly built, true bypass, plenty of gain, and “more fuzz than a moldy peach!”

Blood Moon Phaser

Oft kopiert aber nie erreicht, rangiert das schwer zu findende, originale, Phase 90 bei den Sammlern alter Bodentreter ganz weit oben. Das Original - seit der Gründung der Firma Dunlop bis in die späten 70er Jahre erhältlich – definierte den klassischen Phase Shifter Sound und war in allen Musikstilen zu hören, egal ob Hard Rock, Jazz-Fusion oder Funk-Hits. Der nach dem Kultpedal der Firma designte Phaser kommt puritanisch mit einem Regler aus, über den der Phaser-Speed einstellbar ist. Eine rote LED über dem stabilen Fußschalter zeigt den Schaltstatus an. Das massive Spritzgußgehäuse verfügt über jeweils 1/4" Klinke In- und Out-Eingänge. Betrieben wird der Kulttreter mit einer 9V Batterie, die in einem leicht zugänglichen Batteriefach auf der Unterseite Platz findet. Es ist erhältlich in der ursprünglichen orangenen Farbe.

When you run your signal from your instrument to your amp though long cables and/or through a large array of effects with varying impedance, there's bound to be some signal degradation. Placing the CAE Buffer in your signal chain addresses this issue.

It's a low-noise buffer in a small, rugged housing; it can add up to +6dB of gain with the front-facing gain slider; it makes up for signal loss that can occur when combining effects with different impedance levels; it fine-tunes signal recovery with Hi and Lo cut switches; it has an extra output for a tuner, separate effects chain or amp, and can be set to receive either a buffered or unbuffered signal; it also features a convenient 9VDC power output jack which provides power for another pedal.

The CAE Buffer is truly a mighty utility with a small footprint—an ideal addition to any effects rig or pedalboard!
