The “SpaceTime” is a handcrafted echo device. Due to its unique circuitry, it combines the advantages of analog audio technology with the digital world of signal processing. The result is a delay that sounds analog and warm, is easy to use, can generate typical analog self-oscillations if required, but has a maximum delay time that far exceeds that of conventional analog bucket brigade memories. The guitar signal fed in is not initially digitized, but processed in analogue form. The direct output signal therefore undergoes no AD/DA conversion, is therefore free of latency and only follows a very short signal path on a purely analog basis. This means that the character and dynamics of the amplifier and guitar are fully preserved. The signal processing before and after the echo section is also 100% analog! Only the short circuit section that processes the signal delay or repetition is handled by a digital component. The device offers the usual control options such as “Time”, ‘Repeats’ and “Mix Level”, which can be used to set the delay time, the number of repeats and the volume of the echo signal. There are also two toggle switches. The first divides the control path of the “Time” button into the ranges up to 150ms (Short), up to 330ms (Medium) and up to 660ms (Long). This allows the delay time to be set precisely and is also quick and easy to reproduce in live use. The second toggle switch influences the timbre of the echo signal - and only the repeated signal. The original guitar signal remains completely unaltered and is not processed. The three gradations “bright”, ‘mellow’ and “dark” allow the treble component to be reduced in a targeted manner, so that very warm and analog echo sounds can be produced.
