The VOX Tone Garage V8 Distortion is a high-gain distortion pedal built for heavy riffs and cutting leads. It features VOX’s Hi-Volt technology which allows the included 12AX7 (ECC83) vacuum tube to run at about 200 V even when powered by batteries. The circuit is fully discrete (no op-amps) and the unit offers a Mid-Shift switch to alter the mid-range response: with it off you get a broader mid-range emphasis, with it on you shift toward more lead-friendly mids. It includes controls for Gain, Tone, Bass, Volume, housed in a heavy die-cast body with true bypass.
