The Alpha Dog combines the warmth and sag of tube saturation with the teeth of a modern distortion pedal. Derived from the classic Rat distortion pedal, the Alpha Dog expands its tone options by adding VFE's unique HCC circuitry. The HARD and SOFT controls provide an infinite continuum of voicings, from bluesy breakup, to aggressive grunge, to stoner rock (or whatever the cool kids are calling it these days) and much, much more.

The RUP takes the audio signal and splits it into three bands - with independent control over the bandwidth, gain, compression, harmonic character, plus the overall mix level of each band. The RUP also contains FX loops for each band, clean blend and master 3-band EQ, making it able to create unique distortion tones for any instrument and playing style.
