Trickverzerrer

FUZZ

Description

The Trickverzerrer (often referred to as the Bohm Trickverzerrer or simply Verzerrer) was a vintage East German distortion/fuzz effect pedal originally made in the 1960s–1970s by VEB Musikelektronik in Klingenthal (a state-owned electronics manufacturer). It featured a simple transistor-based fuzz/distortion circuit with a raw, abrasive character uncommon for its era and region. Production was limited and the unit used non-standard connectors and primitive controls, making it rare today. Modern recreations such as the Fredric Effects Verzerrer faithfully replicate its unique sonic traits while adding practical controls for modern use.
