The Utopia Optical Compressor, based on the legendary LA-2A studio compressor, present in numerous recordings of all musical styles in the recording industry from the 1960s to the present day. Unlike traditional compressor pedals that use variable gain circuits with FETs or integrated circuits, the LASAtronix uses a circuit that excites a set of LEDs from the attack of the notes, sensitizing a set of photocells that cause the signal to be compressed. The optical nature of the circuit introduces elements that have a gradual and slow response speed, producing a compression unlike any other traditionally known, extremely smooth and gradually adding to your signal, instead of destroying all dynamics. In addition to the expected compression, we have a preamp that reproduces the characteristics of the LA-2A, producing a light and warm coloration of the signal and introducing harmonic distortion, a musical and sonic identity that can elevate your tone to new levels, even with light and less aggressive compression settings. Speaking of aggressiveness, through its Blend and Hi-Cut controls, the LASAtronix allows for quite extreme compression adjustments without resulting in an overly aggressive and unbalanced sound between the highs and lows. The LASAtronix is the result of careful manual selection of the best components that bring a sound that is the trademark of Utopia Effects, so that you have in your hands another brick to build your sound identity.
