Die japanische Firma Zoom ist ja allseits bekannt durch ihre zumeist sehr günstig angebotenen Effektprozessoren. Begonnen hatte alles vor gut 20 Jahren, als die damals noch junge Company mit ihren miniaturisierten Geräten, wie etwa dem Modell 9002, die Fachwelt in Staunen versetzte. Eine komplette Gitarrenvorstufe mit allen erdenklichen Effekten in der Größe einer Jumbo Zigarettenschachtel – so etwas hatte es bis dato noch nicht gegeben. Doch im Kapitalismus schläft ja die Konkurrenz bekanntlich nie und so standen die Geräte von Zoom stets mehr oder weniger im Schatten der marktbeherrschenden Firmen, allen voran natürlich BOSS oder DigiTech. Zumindest im Pro-Sektor, denn unter den „einfachen Bodentretminen“ für günstiges Geld findet man zumeist etwas Passendes im Angebot bei Zoom. Eine Art „einfache Bodentretmine“ ist auch unser heutiges Testmodell, das Zoom Multistomp MS-50G. Obwohl das vielleicht nicht ganz der Wahrheit entspricht, denn in dem unscheinbaren Gehäuse in Form und Aussehen eines einfachen Single-Effektpedals versteckt sich durchaus mehr. Die chinesische Pedalfirma Joyo hat das R-09 Vision angekündigt, ein sehr preiswertes zweikanaliges Modulationspedal mit 18 Effekten an Bord. Unter 90 USD soll es im Handel kosten. Damit könnte es fortan das Pedal der Wahl für viele werden.

VISION is a dual channel modulation pedal, supporting stereo input and output. Both of the two effects have independent SPEED/RATE, CONTROL, and DEPTH/MIX knobs. In the middle of the panel, a 3-position toggle switch is used for choosing the sequence of the two effects’ output. Besides, each channel features 9 effects, you can adjust various tones with the independent Tap Tempo control.

The OCD was the first pedal to use Mosfets as clipping devices. Another first was their configuration as "hard clippers connected to v-ref" instead of to ground, as was the norm. These things contribute greatly as to why the OCD has such touch-sensitivity...why they react so well when the strings are hit hard or soft, and why they sound & feel different than all other pedals out there, 90% of which are just slight tweaks of the Tube Screamer.

Under construction. So far it was always on DIY boards (plywood board, even one in a keyboard case)

- Everything that needs to be operated (not just switched, this would be done using the ES-8) during a song is in front (wah, volume, expression, flanger, looper and the switcher of course)

- Volume pedal 1 controls input volume, since I don't feel comfort with controlling the volume with the knob on the guitar (question is how to deal with pedals that like most direct contact to the guitar; ES-8 has the option to put buffers everywhere before or behind a loop, so I hope I will find the perfect setting)

- Volume pedal 2 controls overall volume into the amp (mine is a very clean one, so it does not affect overdrive that much)

- All pedals go into the ES-8. Since it has only 8 loops, I have to group pedals that I will never switch during a song, so I would not have to stomp on them. Modulation is one group (Small Stone, Zero Point, Nuvibe), overdrive is another (Tube Driver, Zendrive; ok, maybe I would sometimes stack them), Delay is a third (Echorec, Belle Epoch)

- Loop 8 of the ES-8 goes to a multi effect (Roland GP-16), that's what the EV-5 is used for

- Polytune 3 gets its signal from ES-8

- Ditto+ at the end of course

- Not sure if I really need the Quad Box. And if so it's 
maybe not necessary to put it on the board

Each unit is hand built to my specs and I personally check out each Tube Driver to perfection. Then I engrave my signature on the bottom of the case. This insures authenticity now and in the future!

Es war der Oktober im Jahr 1971, als die Mannen von Pink Floyd ihr berühmtes Werk „Live at the Pompeii“ im Amphitheater der gleichnamigen italienischen Stadt aufnahmen. Stets mit dabei war eines der wohl angesagtesten Effektgeräte der damaligen Zeit – das Binson Echorec. Wohl kaum ein anderes Gerät prägte so maßgeblich den Sound von Pink Floyd der frühen Jahre wie dieses Echogerät, dessen Prinzip auf einer rotierenden Magnetscheibe basierte, die mit vier Tonköpfen das Signal aufnahm bzw. abspielte. Dabei machte nicht nur Leadgitarrist Dave Gilmour vom Echorec gebrauch, auch Bassist Roger Waters und Tastenmann Richard Wright nutzen diese Maschine ausgiebig.

The Binson Echorec was so cool we had no choice but to bring it back. And we wanted to bring it back right. We wanted to take all the goodness of that huge Binson Echorec and squeeze it down into a standard sized stompbox without losing anything. In fact, in addition to not losing any of the qualities that made it such a compelling musical device, we wanted to EXTEND its capabilities because the original Binson hinted at possibilities that it couldn’t realize. We’re talking about variable delay time!
