Die Patchbay-Sektion wurde entwickelt um Verbindungen und Anschlüsse des Pedalboards von der Unterseite nach außen zu führen, dir einen zentralen Zugangspunkt zu deinem Setup zur Verfügung zu stellen und um deine Kabelwege aufzuräumen und sortieren zu können. Die A, B, C und D TRS Buchsen sind als direkte, durchgängige Verbindungen von der Vorderseite des MOD 4 zu den entsprechenden Buchsen auf der Rückseite verkabelt. Damit kannst du deine Effekt-Kette so einrichten, dass du bei der Vorbereitung auf den Gig lediglich Kabel an der Vorderseite des Boards einstecken musst, anstatt unter dem Board zu hantieren.

The wireless system works in the 2.4 GHz ISM band for unlimited worldwide use and offers a full 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency range with only 5 ms of latency. The patchbay module is designed to route connections from underneath your pedalboard to its front, giving you a central access point and tidying up your connections. The A, B, C, and D TRS sockets are wiring thru-connections from the front of MOD 4 to the corresponding sockets on the back. This allows you to connect your pedals permanently underneath the board, so you only have to connect cables to and from the front of the board, instead of having to route underneath it when setting it up for a gig.

The GCS-2 is inserted between your preamplifier or effects chain and a mixing console, eliminating the need for close-mic'ing a cabinet. It features selectable 10” or 12” speaker sizes, vintage or modern speaker character, and open-back or sealed cabinet types. A variable microphone placement control allows for further tonal shaping, and its pure analog circuit design provides high headroom and low noise.

While the OD808 may have been the first overdrive circuit of its kind, it was the OD-9 that cemented this sound in the history of Rock & Roll guitar.

Looking at the MAXON Limited Edition OD-9 Blackdrive circuit, you’ll realize that this is not some redesign being cleverly marketed as a reissue – this is THE original OD-9 (TS-9) circuit, yet with the addition of true bypass switching. Even the PC board is the same one that Maxon’s been using for the past 30+ years, complete with empty slots where parts for the FET switching circuit have been left out!

Like the original, the current production OD-9 features the NJM (JRC) 4558D Op Amp – an essential component for authentic “TS” tone. The NJM is smoother sounding and less compressed than other Op Amps, offering superior sound quality with low noise.

The absence of the FET switching circuit gives the OD-9 some added output and a slightly more open sound than the OD808, making it perfect for the classic rock tones that it helped to define.

The OCD was the first pedal to use Mosfets as clipping devices. Another first was their configuration as "hard clippers connected to v-ref" instead of to ground, as was the norm. These things contribute greatly as to why the OCD has such touch-sensitivity...why they react so well when the strings are hit hard or soft, and why they sound & feel different than all other pedals out there, 90% of which are just slight tweaks of the Tube Screamer.

Classic overdrive paired with a powerful EQ section. Even with the gain dimed, the Rook maintains astonishing note articulation and chord clarity, (think a highly tweakable Tube Scre@mer). If that’s not enough, the Rook is one of the most stack friendly drives on the market. Whether stacked with various overdrives, fuzzes, or muffs, it can make all of your other pedals sound even better!

The magic is the 2 band Baxandall EQ circuit, which offers up a different approach to tone control. Both Bass and Treble can be independently cut or boosted, allowing for an almost limitless tonal palette. With them both down, you get a mid range hump. Turning both controls up yields a nice mid scoop.

Adding to the countless shades of drive is the 3 way toggle. Toggle UP for “classic overdrive” tones, filled with rich “harmonicy” goodness. Toggle DOWN is LED clipping, for a raw and edgy, almost distortion type drive. Lastly, the MIDDLE position removes the clipping diodes for a louder, cleaner, less compressed sound. This position also causes the EQ controls to be more pronounced, allowing the Rook to be used as an excellent tone shaping boost. It’s best to start with the gain down to get a feel for this position, then crank it up for total amp melt-down!
