Named after America’s first satellite and sporting its own onboard cosmic ray detector, the Explorer Deluxe is a photocell‑driven, six‑stage optical phaser that sounds out of this world. Level and Mix knobs let you dial in perfect volume and blend for everything from subtle swoosh to full‑on wash, with Mix doubling as pitch modulation at 100 % wet. Speed, Resonance, and Range controls deliver everything from molasses‑slow spirals to razor‑sharp sweeps, plus low‑end extension for deeper, dreamier tones. A five‑position Shape switch offers Sine, Triangle, Square, Saw‑Up, and Saw‑Down waves—or Manual mode to freeze and manually sweep your phase. Expression/CV input brings wah‑style control over speed or sweep position, unlocking hands‑free modulation magic. Hand‑soldered in Portland with true bypass and Switchcraft jacks, it’s artisan built to inspire sonic exploration.
