As a polyphonic octave down fuzz modulator, the Solid Gold FX Lysis delivers massive distortion sounds that are clearly inspired by poisonous synthesizer sounds. At the heart of the sound generation are an analog wave-shaping fuzz and a DSP-controlled polyphonic octaver with extremely precise tracking. In addition, a filter, which works with a fixed cut-off frequency or modulates, and a vibrato effect put the sound through the wringer, so that there are no limits to the variety of sounds. While the selectable high-pass or low-pass filter mode determines the basic sound character, the warp mode of the Solid Gold FX Lysis temporarily sets the value of the mod control to its maximum or minimum value, allowing certain passages to be emphasized.

Building upon the brand's popular If 6 Was 9 fuzz circuit, the Spanish Castle Dual Fuzz gives players an expanded palette of tweakable fuzz tones, with each side of the circuit having been inspired by the If 6 Was 9's signature sounds. The Spanish Castle's "Fuzz A" is a warm, vintage-voiced fuzz, equipped with silicon transistors and carbon comp resistors, while "Fuzz B" plays its modern counterpart, featuring a tighter voice, metal film resistors, high-gain transistors, and extended bias range for gated and sputtery fuzz tones as well as smoother, more traditional sounds.

Mit seinen endlosen Ausklingzeiten lässt sich das Pedal zusätzlich durch Tap Tempo Vibrato, Tremolo und Harmonic-Tremolo manipulieren – all das entführt Sie in ein Reich dunkler, höhlenartiger Leere und unheimlicher, aber dennoch schimmernder Reflexionen. Ambient-Glückseligkeit ist nur einen Tritt entfernt.

Die Reise mit dem Ether begann mit einer einfachen Frage: Welche Texturen lassen sich durch starke (oder subtile) Modulation eines höhlenartigen Ambient-Halls erzeugen, während das trockene Signal unberührt bleibt? Das Ergebnis ist Ether, ein kraftvoller und dennoch vielseitiger Hall, der für eindringlich schöne Klanglandschaften entwickelt wurde.

Während die meisten Shimmer-Halls einen engelsgleichen Effekt anstreben, bevorzugt unser Designteam eine etwas verdrehtere Klangsignatur. Deshalb haben wir einen Shimmer-Algorithmus entwickelt, der beim Abklingen dazu neigt, sich zu verflüchtigen und so einen Klang zu erzeugen, der in einen von Ether erzeugten dissonanten Dunst getaucht ist. Der Decay-Regler entführt Sie aus dem engen Raum in die unendlichen Weiten des Himmels, während Sie mit dem Color-Regler den Klang so dunkel oder bissig gestalten können, wie Sie möchten. Dank des erweiterten Bereichs des Level-Reglers kann die Ausgabe des Hallsignals das trockene Signal übertönen – für besonders farbenfrohe Effekte.

Kommen wir nun zu dem, was dieses Pedal wirklich von einem gewöhnlichen Hallgerät unterscheidet: die Modulation. Wir haben dieses kompakte Pedal mit drei verschiedenen Modulationsarten ausgestattet, jeweils mit drei verschiedenen LFO-Formen und Tap-Tempo-Funktion. Das Vibrato verleiht dem Effekt eine schmelzende Fluidität und einen verwaschenen Chorus-Sound, während das Tremolo subtile Wellen aufteilt oder die Ausklingphase für einen perkussiveren Abklang komplett zerhackt. Das Harmonic-Tremolo verleiht einen wunderbaren Push/Pull-Charakter, der das Klangspektrum zwischen Höhen und Tiefen verschiebt und gleichzeitig alles dazwischen mitschwingt.

With endless tails, the pedal is further manipulated by Tap Tempo Vibrato, Tremolo and Harmonic-Tremolo, all designed to bring you to a realm of dark, cavernous voids and eerie, yet shimmering reflections. Ambient bliss is only a stomp away. 

The journey with the Ether started with a simple question. What textures could be created by heavily (or subtly) modulating a cavernous ambient reverb, while at the same time leaving the dry signal untouched? The result is Ether, a powerful, yet versatile reverb that is designed to create hauntingly beautiful soundscapes.

While most Shimmer reverbs aim for an angelic effect, our design team prefer things to have a little more of a twisted sonic signature. So we created a shimmer algorithm that has a tendency to devolve as it decays, creating a sound drenched in an Ether induced dissonant haze. The Decay control takes you from a confined space to the infinite heavens, while the Color knob allows you to make the tone all as dark or as snappy as you please. With an extended range on the Level knob, the output of the reverb signal can overtake the dry signal, for those seeking extra colourful effects.

Now let’s talk about what really sets this pedal apart from being just another reverb box - the modulation. We have equipped this compact goliath of a stompbox with 3 different modulation types, each with 3 different LFO shapes and Tap Tempo operation. The Vibrato adds a melting fluidity and washed out chorus flavour to the verb while the Tremolo can divide things up into subtle waves or absolutely chop up your tails for a more percussive decay. Finally, the Harmonic-Tremolo adds a wonderful Push/Pull character that tilts the sonic spectrum between highs and lows, all while sweeping everything in between.
