The Razor Fuzz is an intense, spitty, gated fuzzbox, with a ‘virtual plectrum’ facility; choose which one of four virtual plectrums you’d like to use! The fuzz circuitry is all analog – our own original circuit – and is very ‘alive’ sounding, with zingy highs possible, and boomy out-of-proportion lows. The ‘extra’ switch gives even more gain to the fuzz, and adds a dash more hi-mid, with less bass. It’s designed to be really fun to use, and for a very high-gain circuit is amazingly quiet when you don’t play. The fuzz is always on when the pedal’s engaged. What’s on offer are all digital, with their volume adjusted by the ‘pick volume’ knob (from none at all, up to too much – possibly). There’s ‘Sandpaper’ which adds extra impact to low rocky ‘chugged’ chords and more attack to single high notes (sometimes sounding like a cabasa), ‘Metal’ for pinched-harmonic-style bursts, ‘Metal long’ for ring-modulator-like textures, and ‘1-note’ for a tuneable pedal note harmonizing your playing. Electric guitarists can be notoriously obsessive about their picks, so we created a pick-detection program (evolved from our Break Box and Pull Focus pedals) that senses your real pick attack and injects an enhanced one for truly unique sounds.
