The Pastfx Nick James Foot Phaser is a collaboration with Nick James of Peril Pedals and is based upon the foxx Foot Phaser V1.
The foxx Foot Phaser is made famous by Brian May of Queen. Made in the 70’s, its treadle design allowed the Phase speed to be controlled by knob or treadle.
Foxx released several versions of the foot phaser with different number of phase stages and circuit design. However it is Version 1’s design that is most synonymous with Brian May.

The Nick James foot phaser requires considerable testing to find a set of 10 matching transistors. This involves testing thousands of transistors by hand, to get the perfect phase.

The PastFx Preamp Crunch Plus is an expansion of the PastFx Preamp Crunch Classic, which is the isolated preamp from our Chorus Ensemble in its own enclosure. Like the Classic, the pedal features a high/low signal switch, as well an on/off switch to activate or deactivate a buffer in the circuit. The standard Level Control, which determines the amount of crunch in the preamp signal, shapes the overall tone, gain level, and volume output of the effect. The Plus (+) version features an additional Master Control, allowing players to adjust the overall volume to compensate for higher gain settings on the Level Control, or to achieve unity gain at any point in the Level sweep. With the Master Control set fully clockwise, the Preamp Crunch Plus operates with the same stock circuit as the Preamp Crunch Classic, characterised by its warm, chimey crunch, saturation, and natural compression as the Level Control is engaged. However, turning the Master Control counter-clockwise will steadily lower the pedal’s volume floor, offering the ability to crank the Level up without fear of waking the neighbours!

Preamp Crunch Plus

The PastFx TD-Y is a faithful reproduction of the now discontinued Buffalo FX TD-X Equaliser and Gain Booster pedal, which itself was inspired by a popular valve-powered overdrive favoured by several notable rock artists during the 1980s and ‘90s. The TD-Y has been produced in a smaller, pedalboard-friendly enclosure, and made with the same careful attention to detail and high-quality components as the pedal upon which it is based. It is a highly tweakable and useful tone sculpting tool that can be set to act as a potent equaliser, a clean or dirty boost, or as a satisfyingly rich and complex overdrive. There is plenty of headroom on tap to allow players to generate great tones from the pedal alone or by using it to push their amplifiers over the top. The PastFx TD-Y can go from beautiful, blooming low gain creaminess all the way up to medium gain distortion and early British amp characteristics, especially working in tandem with an amplifier’s character and playing environment.
