Description
Based on the early Japanese version of the classic Boss DS-1 Distortion circuit, this unit incorporates rare, obsolete TA7136AP integrated circuits alongside vintage 1S1588 clipping diodes. Tone shaping is expanded through a 3-way bass toggle offering pre- and post-boost options, a mids boost pushbutton, and a dedicated bite switch that bypasses the active low-pass filter to restore aggressive treble presence. Clipping versatility is handled by a 4-way rotary selector paired with a multi-color LED indicator, delivering stock symmetrical silicon, asymmetrical silicon, red LED, and hybrid germanium arrangements. A selectable High and Lo gain switch allows players to tailor overall saturation ranges for subtle drive or intense clipping. Standard rotary dials govern distortion intensity, broad filter tone equalization, and overall output level. True bypass switching ensures complete signal transparency when the effect is bypassed.Media
