The PastFx Patriarch fuzz is a faithful recreation and expansion of the Buffalo FX Patriot MKI and MKII, which was modeled after the Sovtek “Civil War” (Blue & Grey) Muff famously used by David Gilmour during Pink Floyd’s 1994 Division Bell tour and timelessly captured in their acclaimed live album Pulse. It is our highest gain offering within the Spectrum Collection. The Patriarch is characterised by booming low end, cutting lead tones, and jaw-dropping sustain and power, all while maintaining a surprisingly quiet noise floor. It is a heavy, girthy Muff-style fuzz that blasts through the mix and offers punishingly brutal note definition and natural compression that makes for extremely satisfying high gain fuzz tones. The Patriarch is more naturally “mids present” than most other Muff-derived circuits. To further exploit this, the pedal boasts a “Mids” knob that allows users to bring more or less into the mix, as well as a “Lows” cut knob that tames the substantial low end as it is turned clockwise. There is also an internal micro switch for exploring more tone sculpting options for determining the pedal’s mids and EQ response. With the Level rolled down or turned up, the Patriarch can deliver bite, grit, and presence, with a refined fire-breathing attitude that gloriously pummels the senses and rains down sweet muffy goodness at any setting.

The PastFx 18V Power Booster is a pedalboard-friendly recreation and expansion of the Buffalo FX Power Booster. Based on the legendary Colorsound Power Booster, one of the first overdrive effects pedals made available to the masses, the effect was popularised in the 1970s and unmistakably imprinted on the recordings of various classic rock guitar legends during the era. 
With the inclusion of a dedicated master volume, external gain control, and adjustable internal gain switch, the PastFx 18V Power Booster is a versatile little dirt box capable of light tonal grit, hair-raising overdrive, light to medium fuzz, and/or clean to gloriously filthy boost, with bass and treble controls for further tone shaping. The pedal tastefully colours the player’s tone without ever truly overtaking it, dialed to taste and adding new dimensions to a variety of rhythm or lead guitar applications. Runs on 9 to18v DC, with 18 volts allowing slightly more gain.

18V Power Booster

The PastFx TD-Y is a faithful reproduction of the now discontinued Buffalo FX TD-X Equaliser and Gain Booster pedal, which itself was inspired by a popular valve-powered overdrive favoured by several notable rock artists during the 1980s and ‘90s. The TD-Y has been produced in a smaller, pedalboard-friendly enclosure, and made with the same careful attention to detail and high-quality components as the pedal upon which it is based. It is a highly tweakable and useful tone sculpting tool that can be set to act as a potent equaliser, a clean or dirty boost, or as a satisfyingly rich and complex overdrive. There is plenty of headroom on tap to allow players to generate great tones from the pedal alone or by using it to push their amplifiers over the top. The PastFx TD-Y can go from beautiful, blooming low gain creaminess all the way up to medium gain distortion and early British amp characteristics, especially working in tandem with an amplifier’s character and playing environment.

TD-Y Overdrive

The PastFx Chorus Ensemble Mini (CEM) is based upon the Holy Grail of Chorus pedals, The BOSS® CE-1. First released in 1976 it became famous for lush Chorus and Leslie effect Vibrato.

The CEM is currently the smallest recreation of the The BOSS® CE-1 available. It is approximately 1/4 of the size and weight of an original. At 40yrs of age, original units can develop reliability issues and require capacitor replacement and extensive servicing. Unmodified working originals are becoming harder to find and are expensive. The CEM requires no fuses and is not powered by mains voltage. With today’s advancements in technology, the CEM operates off the same bipolar voltages as The BOSS® CE-1, however it only requires standard 9vdc pedal power supply.
