Lenny, frontman of M.O.T.H.E.R. from Biel/Bienne, brings a sound that’s gritty, raw, and full of attitude. With punchy riffs and a voice to match, he builds his core tone by pushing his amp hard—no classic drive pedals needed. Instead, both EQs (BOSS GE-7 and MXR Ten Band) are used as powerful boosts, slamming the amp into that unmistakable, edge-of-breakup tube growl.

Central to his setup is the RhPf Electronics Tri-Hormonic Phalanx. Lenny sets the highs and lows for clean, focused boost, while the mids get dialed in for a crunchy, saturated bite. This lets him carve out punch and clarity, while the midrange cuts through with emotion and grit—never muddy, always bold.

Modulation and color come from the Orange Phaser, BOSS Harmonist, Multi Overtone, and Echoplex Delay, with the Hall of Fame 2 adding depth when needed. Power and routing are handled by the Truetone 1Spot Pro and Radial Catapult.

M.O.T.H.E.R.’s songs are all about storytelling with soul—sometimes chaotic, sometimes beautiful, always real. Lenny’s rig is built for that: flexible, dynamic, and ready to deliver every shade of feeling, from heartbreak to pure rock and roll joy.

The Echoplex EP-3 tape echo unit is famous for its deliciously warm, organic modulation and sweet musical voice—a key component to some of the most iconic guitar tones from the '70s onward. The original EP-3 units, however, are expensive, temperamental, and larger than a VCR.

That's where the EP103 Echoplex Delay comes in. It's the size of a Phase 90, and it delivers the EP-3's legendary tones with a simple control interface and a hi-fi all-analog dry path. The Delay control sets the time between repeats—from 65ms to 750ms—the Sustain control sets the number of repeats, and the Volume control sets the output level of your repeats.

The Catapult Mini System works like a typical four-channel analog audio snake; they allow you to send mic or line-level signals from one location to another without signal loss, noise, or interference, and without any digital audio conversion needed. What makes the Catapult system unique is that it utilizes Cat 5 Ethernet cable, which is widely available, lightweight, and economical. Simply connect a shielded Cat 5 cable between any two Catapult modules and they will use the analog conductors in the cable to deliver four balanced audio lines to any destination.

Bi-amplification preamp bass pedal based on Orange bass and guitar amps.

Back in the good ol’ days, it was a popular practice to send a bass guitar signal to a bass amp and a guitar amp at the same time – known as Bi-Amping. This allows the player to keep their low end deep, clean and defined whilst amplifying the mids and top end separately, adding distortion or crisp highs with total control.

This type of setup can produce some enormous tones but typically requires a huge and complicated rig, only possible if you’re Rock ‘n’ Roll royalty. But, if you have to get all this together by yourself? Forget it!
