Das erste Projekt soll die Verbesserung meines Overdrive Pedals sein, welches ich 1992 (für Nobels) entwickelt habe. In der ersten Prototypen Phase hieß das Gerät noch OD-1. Davon gibt es noch ein paar Muster - allerdings noch ohne der einzigartigen Spectrum-Regelung. In der Folge habe ich es dann ODR-1 genannt. Die Grundidee bestand darin einen eigenständigen Overdrive zu entwickeln, der den Grund-Klang der Gitarre möglichst wenig verändert. Optimal wäre natürlich "gar nicht", aber da durch die Verzerrung Oberwellen hinzugefügt werden ist das technisch (analog) nicht möglich. Das stand im völligen Gegensatz zum Tubescreamer, der von Haus aus einen starken Mittencharakter aufweist.

The first project will be the improvement of my overdrive pedal, which I developed in 1992 (for Nobels). In the first prototype phase the device was called OD-1. There are a few samples of this - but without the unique Spectrum control. I then called it ODR-1.

The basic idea was to develop an independent overdrive that changes as little as possible the basic sound of the guitar. Optimal of course would be "not at all", but since the distortion adds harmonics, this is technically (analogous) not possible. This was in complete contrast to the Tubescreamer, which has a strong mid character by nature.

ODR-C (Black Edition)

Seit langer Zeit hatte ich darüber nachgedacht, den ODR-C in einem kleineren Design anzubieten, wie es schon lange für Pedalboards verwendet wird. Da Pedalboards in der Regel genügend 9-Volt- (oder mehr) Gleichstromanschlüsse bieten, können alle Bauteile für den Batteriebetrieb (Batteriefach, 9-Volt-Clip, Einschalt-Elektronik usw.) weggelassen werden. Besonders der Platzbedarf wird dadurch deutlich reduziert! Außerdem habe ich die interne Helligkeitsregelung für die LED entfernt. Diese ist zwar praktisch – aber auch nicht unbedingt notwendig. Der Aufwand beim Zusammenbau dieser Teile wird reduziert, da weniger Bauteile und Kabel von Hand verlötet werden müssen. Das wirkt sich auf den Preis aus! Die klangbestimmenden elektronischen Bauteile entsprechen natürlich dem originalen ODR-C, sodass der Klang absolut identisch bleibt.


For a long time I had been considering offering the ODR-C in a smaller design, which has been used for a long time for pedalboards. Since pedalboards usually provide enough 9 volts (or more) DC connections, all parts for battery operation (battery compartment, 9 volt clip, switch-on electronics, etc.) can be omitted. In particular, the space requirement is significantly reduced as a result! In addition, I removed the internal brightness control for the LED. This is practical - but not so necessary either. The effort involved in assembling these parts is reduced because fewer components and cables need to be soldered by hand. That affects the price! The sound-determining electronic components naturally correspond to the original ODR-C, so that the sound remains absolutely identical.

Das MT-11 Effektpedal basiert auf einer alten Entwicklung (MT-10) die von dem japanischen Hersteller schon viele Jahre nicht mehr hergestellt wird. In meiner neuen Version habe ich die Schaltung sicherer gemacht, sehr gute Bauteile verwendet, auf True Bypass umgebaut und die Klangregler mit einer Mittenrastung eingesetzt. Zusätzlich habe ich meine bewährte O.D.C. Schaltung - wie beim meinem ODR-C Overdrive - eingebaut. Also ein Regler mehr, deswegen MT-11.

The MT-11 effects pedal is based on an old development (MT-10) that has not been manufactured by the Japanese manufacturer for many years. In my new version I made the circuit safer, used components very well, converted it to true bypass and used the tone controls with a center detent. In addition, I have my tried and tested O.D.C. Circuit - like my ODR-C overdrive - installed. So one more knob, hence MT-11.
