The Moth Electric M. stellatarum is a versatile multi-mode optical tremolo that combines an all-analog signal path with digital microprocessor control. Inspired by David Rolo’s designs, it offers 32 possible mode and waveform combinations, including classic amplitude, harmonic, and frequency-specific modulation for bass or treble. The pedal features eight selectable waveforms ranging from smooth sine and triangle to rhythmic square and random pulses. It includes an onboard neutral-voiced preamp boost to compensate for perceived volume drop and a dedicated tone knob for frequency shaping. Additional performance features include tap tempo with four subdivisions and a high-headroom circuit designed for guitar, bass, and baritone. The unit is hand-built in the USA using through-hole construction and top-mounted jacks.
