The Extreme shares the same basic circuit architecture as the OD808. However, several key component values have been altered to achieve what may be the ultimate overdrive tone.

The OD808X offers a wider frequency response than a stock OD808, with an extended hi-frequency tonal range that offers additional clarity without becoming harsh.

It also features a harder clipping pattern than the standard model, creating a searing, full-bodied drive tone that helps chords ring and notes sing.

OD808X Overdrive Extreme

The RTO is an amazingly amp-like overdrive. While many companies claim to offer “amp in a box” pedals, the RTO is in actuality a tube preamp circuit in a stand-alone stompbox format.

The RTO700 has all the tone and responsiveness of the best boutique tube amps.  From bluesy overdrives to the elusive “Brown Sound” and beyond, all can be easily achieved with any amp at any volume when using the RTO.

RTO700 Real Tube Overdrive

The TOD-9 takes Maxon’s classic OD-9 circuit and adds a tube gain stage at the front end to create an ultra-compact, tube-driven tone machine.
The TOD features a mil-spec 5703WB JAN Raytheon sub-miniature vacuum tube complete with its own separate Gain control (Tube knob).  This tube stage is positioned at the front of the audio path, driving the OD-9 circuit.
