ZW44 Zakk Wylde Overdrive

OVERDRIVE
Description
The MXR ZW44 Zakk Wylde Overdrive is a signature stompbox designed to deliver the aggressive, high-gain tones associated with Black Label Society and Ozzy Osbourne. Its circuit is largely based on the iconic Boss SD-1, utilizing asymmetrical clipping to produce a gritty, mid-focused overdrive that maintains clarity under high saturation. Unlike the standard Tube Screamer profile, it offers a tighter low-end response specifically tuned for heavy riffs and pinch harmonics. The pedal features a straightforward three-knob layout for Output, Tone, and Gain, and it is housed in a heavy-duty MXR enclosure. It is frequently used as a front-end boost to push dirty tube amplifiers into harmonically rich lead sustain.Media
