Mike Matthews, the founder of Electro-Harmonix, is a colorful figure. The hippie movement and Jimi Hendrix's evolution of the electric guitar served as a catalyst for him to develop the Big Muff distortion unit, which is still popular today. After phenomenal growth of his company in the golden age of rock'n'roll, the 1970s, disillusionment followed in the early 1980s - and finally bankruptcy.

Der Bass Chorus Deluxe verfügt über Flanger- und X-Over-Tasten auf der Oberseite mit LED-Statusanzeigen. Im X-Over-Modus wird die Modulation in den tiefen Frequenzen auf 100 Hz abgesenkt - perfekt für das Spielen von Akkorden, Melodien und Fills in den oberen Registern, während die tiefen Frequenzen in der richtigen Stimmung bleiben. Mit den Reglern für Bass und Treble können Sie die Tiefen und Höhen absenken oder anheben und den Klangcharakter des Effekts gestalten. Für einen breiten Stereosound können Sie über einen internen Schalter den TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve) Stereo Hardwire Bypass Mode wählen. With Bass and Treble controls you can cut or boost lows and highs and shape the tonal character of the effect. For a wide stereo sound, select the TRS (tip-ring-sleeve) Stereo Hardwire Bypass Mode via an internal switch. In this mode, you can use a TRS to TS (tip-sleeve) Y-splitter cable to send the effect signal to two different amplifiers, allowing the modulation to move from left to right.

Featuring a unique circuit design, the MXR FET Driver captures the rich, creamy sound of an overdriven tube amplifier by cascading an op-amp gain stage into a FET stage. The FET Driver thickens up lead tones with musical, amp-like distortion and sustain without the fragility and inconsistency associated with tubes.

The FET Driver features a simple but responsive set of controls. Set your volume level with the Output control, and then use the Drive control to dial in the grit, from subtle soft-clipping to early stage distortion. Fine tune the FET Driver’s sound by tweaking Hi and Lo boost/cut controls, and push the Hi Cut switch to roll off high end frequencies when playing in high volume situations where excess noise is apparent.

By utilizing the dedicated footswitch, Layers can be played manually to sustain notes or remotely by playing dynamics. The pedal’s Trigger knob control can be used to adjust the sensitivity of the automatic trigger sustain function or disable it altogether to offer early insight into this pedal’s options of interactivity.
