The Echoplex EP-3 tape echo unit is famous for its deliciously warm, organic modulation and sweet musical voice—a key component to some of the most iconic guitar tones from the '70s onward. The original EP-3 units, however, are expensive, temperamental, and larger than a VCR.

That's where the EP103 Echoplex Delay comes in. It's the size of a Phase 90, and it delivers the EP-3's legendary tones with a simple control interface and a hi-fi all-analog dry path. The Delay control sets the time between repeats—from 65ms to 750ms—the Sustain control sets the number of repeats, and the Volume control sets the output level of your repeats.

Edward Van Halen's Gitarrensound auf dem Debüt Album von1978 katapultierte ihn schlagartig in dem Olymp des Rock und selbst nach mehr als 25 Jahren hat die Gitarrenarbeit auf diesem Album nichts von ihrer Faszination eingebüßt. Den unglaublichen Sound, den EVH auf dieser Platte kreierte, gehört zu den absoluten Meilensteinen des Rock und ein wichtiger Bestandteil dieses Sounds war von vornherein der MXR Phase 90. Der Phase 90 trug maßgeblich zu den zeitlosen Gitarrensounds von “Eruption,“ “Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love,“ “On Fire,“ und “Atomic Punk“, sowie vieler anderer klassischer Van Halen Stücke bei. Entstanden aus einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen Eddie Van Halen und Jim Dunlop ist der EVH 90 eine komplett neu designte Version des legendären Phase 90. Der EVH 90 zeigt genau die gleichen räumlichen Klangverwirbelungen und hypnotischen Phasenverschiebungen, die den Phase 90 so berühmt machten. Als neues Feature besitzt der EVH 90 den Script-Schalter, der es ermöglicht, zwischen dem Vintage 'Script Logo' und dem moderneren, aggressiveren 'Block Logo' Phasersound zu wählen. The EVH 5150 Chorus is based on a legendary chorus unit that Eddie used to add texture and dimension to some of his most classic recordings from the early 1980s. It has a simple three-knob setup—Volume, Tone, and Intensity—with Input and Output Level pad switches, mono and stereo outputs, and an internal True/Buffered Bypass switch for modern rig flexibility. Andy Timmons' mysterious sounding 'Halo' effect is a modulated dual echo sound that has long been kept a secret by the tone wizard himself and he spent decades combining and crafting the sounds you can get from the Keeley Halo effects pedal. Notes from the Halo dance rhythmically, almost creating a reverb diffusion. Those notes are held together with tape-style effects like modulation, saturation, and compression. The pedal comes loaded with Andy Timmons' signature delay tone and you can program your own sounds and save them as presets. Easily bounce between Side A and B on the fly, essentially giving you two delay pedals in one. In addition to Andy's signature 'Halo' sound, there are numerous other rhythmic delays including: quarter note, dotted 8th, stereo rack mount analog delay, and a vintage multi-head tape echo. The LPD Embers is a K style overdrive with a few LPD twists. 

The sweep of the gain control has been made more consistent, with the sweet spot extended for finer control. An active bass control has been added, allowing +-15dB of low frequency tailoring, and soft touch switching has also been added. For the purist, when the bass control is set at noon it is effectively out of the circuit.

We think this is all the good stuff - with some more good added for good measure!

The Chase Tone Secret Preamp is a pedal-format recreation of the vintage 1970s solid-state Maestro EP-3 preamp circuit. Die Dynamik fühlen sich lebendig an, alles kommt aus den Fingern. Das ist der Grund warum dieses modifizierte Pedal seit mittlerweile fast 15 Jahren auf Pedalboards verweilt. Die Keeley Super Phat Mod ist Keeleys berühmte Mod nun schlussendlich perfektioniert mit unglaublich klingenden JFETS, die alte Tube-Amp Sounds auf ganz einzigartige Weise emulieren.
Das originale Pedal war ein großartiges Design, das über röhren-ähnliche Gain-Stufen, Tube Amp Tone Stacks und eine Vielfalt an Tone Shaping Potential verfügte um den bestmöglichen Ton aus einem jeden Gitarrenpickup zu kitzeln.
Das Problem damit, in den letzten Jahren einen zu bekommen lag darin den perfekten FET zu finden um die Magie einzufangen. Waren der Obertonreichtum, Grain der Distortion und Overdrive nicht exakt richtig, wartete Keeley auf den nächsten möglichen Kandidaten. Nun aber, nach all diesen Jahren stolperte Craighton Hale über ein Toshiba Teil, das exakt diese Magie einfing. Der in Edmond, Oklahoma ansässige Guitar Hero Aaron Pierce, der für sein kritisches Gehör bekannt ist grinste von einem Ohr zum anderen als er diesem Ear-Candy sein finales Seal of Approval aufdrückte. Keeley hatte endlich das magische Teil gefunden, den fehlenden Puzzleteil um die Phat Mod über die Klippe zu schießen. So mussten Sie es einfach in Gold und königlichem Lila kleiden. Der Name sollte von seiner Geschichte und dessen Erbe sprechen. Die Super Phat Mod mit dem Logo im Black-Face Stil und der Goldenen Metal-Flake Sparkle Lackierung, so finden Keeley, sieht einfach nur Hammer aus, in jedem Rig."

If the harmonic content and grain of the distortion and overdrive weren’t exactly right, Keeley moved on and waited to try out other devices. Edmond, OK resident guitar hero Aaron Pierce, known for being very critical of even the most minute nuances, was grinning from ear to ear when he approved this Ear-Candy final version. Keeley had found the magic device that pushed it over the top.  They had to dress it in gold and royal purple.  The name badge had to speak of it’s history and heritage.  With Super Phat Mod in an old black face style logo and the metal flake clear sparkle on gold Keeley felt it would look incredible in any rig."

Super Phat Mod

The MC404 CAE Wah was developed by Bob Bradshaw of Custom Audio Electronics and the Cry Baby design team with the goal of creating a highly versatile wah-wah of top-grade components. It features dual Fasel inductors with two distinct voices (high-end emphasis or low to mid resonance), and a built-in MXR MC401 Boost/LineDriver adds even more flexibility. Choose between inductors and turn the boost on or off with the side-mounted kickswitches; bright LEDs on each side of the wah indicate operation status. The MC404 boasts true hardwire bypass, a long-life CTS potentiometer, and internal pots for "Q" and gain adjustments.

Es liefert eine unglaubliche Vielfalt an klassischen Sounds inspiriert von David Gilmour. Das Dark Side ist aber nicht nur ein “Gilmour Tone Simulator“. Genau wie Robert Keeley’s “Neo Vintage“ Philosophie ist vielmehr ein Take von alle dem, was er an den klassischen Sounds verbessert hätte, hätte es damals die Technologie dazu gegeben. Und das zeigt sich mit Features wie einer kompletten Magnetic Drum Delay Emulation. Das Dark Side hält eine massive Bandbreite an tonalen Möglichkeiten für dich zum Entdecken bereit.

The Keeley Dark Side is a full thick fuzz going into a modulation section which includes Uni-Vibe, Rotary Speaker and Multi Head Tape Delay among others, which is capable of yielding a ton of classic sounds inspired by David Gilmour. The Dark Side is not just a “Gilmour Tone emulator” though, in line with Robert Keeley’s “Neo Vintage” philosophy, it is rather his take on what he believes could have been improved on those classic tones should the technology had been around at the time. And it certainly shows, with features such as full-on magnetic drum delay emulation, the Dark Side offers a massive range tonal possibilities ready for you to discover.
