The Superdrive IV by Lex Bos is a boutique, dual-channel vacuum tube overdrive and preamp pedal designed for high-fidelity, amp-like response. Its circuit features a pure tube signal path that operates on high internal voltage to provide exceptional touch sensitivity and 3D clarity. The unit offers two independent channels—one voiced for "Fender-style" cleans and light crunch, and another for "Marshall-style" saturated lead tones—alongside a dedicated musical boost function. This iteration represents the final stage of evolution for the Superdrive, transitioning from point-to-point wiring to a high-quality PCB design produced in collaboration with Kool & Elfring. It can also function as a standalone preamp, allowing for direct recording with professional-grade note definition and harmonic complexity.
