Der Cyst-Modus ist die V2 des Cystech Filter Drive, den ich vor ein paar Jahren in einer kleinen Auflage herausgebracht habe. Es handelt sich um einen gefilterten Fuzz-/Distortion-Effekt, der auf dem Systech Overdrive basiert, einem Gerät, das in den 70er Jahren hergestellt wurde. Der Cyst-Modus enthält das Herzstück dieser Schaltung, verfügt aber auch über mehrere neue Funktionen.

The Cyst Mode is the V2 of the Cystech Filter Drive I put out a few years ago that was a tiny run. It's a filtered fuzz/distortion effect based on the Systech Overdrive, a device produced in the 70's. The Cyst Mode contains that heart of that circuit but also has several new features.

Cyst Mode

Sinews ist eine Variante des Buzzaround von Baldwin Burns. Der vordere Vorverstärkerabschnitt der Buzzaround-Schaltung wurde durch das vordere Ende des Roland Bee Baa ersetzt, das einen Höhenanhebungseffekt hat. Ich habe den Anhebungseffekt etwas weiter modifiziert, und es besteht auch die Möglichkeit, über den Kippschalter etwas mehr Tiefe hinzuzufügen.

Wenn alle Regler aufgedreht sind, ist es ein bombastischer Fuzz, wenn man die Regler zähmt, ergeben sich viele Variationen für subtilere Dirt-Töne.

Sinews is a Baldwin Burns Buzzaround variant. The front end preamp section of the Buzzaround circuit has been replaced with the front end of the Roland Bee Baa, which is a treble boost. I have modified the boost to be a touch more full range and there's also an option to add some more thickness via the toggle switch.

With all the controls dimed it's a bombastic fuzz, taming the controls offer lots or variations for more subtle dirt tones.

BATH SALTS ist ein Weltuntergangs-Sludgemaker, der zwei missbrauchte Schaltkreise parallel laufen lässt, um eine bedrohliche Klangwand zu erzeugen. Der Haupt-Fuzz-Schaltkreis ist ein massiver Rechteckwellen-Fuzz, der einhüllende Filter-Fuzz-Spasmen bis hin zu bombastischen synthetischen Fuzz-Sounds in der unteren Oktave liefert. Es gibt auch einen Kippschalter, der den Schaltkreis in einen Oszillator-artigen Fuzz verwandelt, der von subsonischen tiefen Grollen bis hin zu kratzenden digitalen Kettensägen-ähnlichen Sounds reichen kann. Manchmal klingt es fast wie ein Ring-Mod, wenn der Ring-Mod von einem kotzenden Roboter geliefert würde.

BATH SALTS is an end of the world sludgemaker running two abused circuits in parallel in order to create a menacing wall of sound. The main fuzz circuit is a massive square wave fuzz which provide enveloping filter fuzz spasms to bombastic synthetic lower octave fuzz sounds. There's also a toggle switch that turns the circuit into an oscillator type of fuzz that can provide subsonic low end rumblings to grating digital chainsaw like sounds. At times almost ring mod-esque sounding if the ring mod was provided by a vomiting robot.

Bath Salts

Title says it all, input caps on a switch in the middle. Bright and Zonky or a bigger cap to get you into that MK1 fat low note bloom. These will be put up from time to time as it takes me forever to find the right tasty transistor combos. These are built with NOS various branded US germanium transistors and Japanese transistors pulled from old radios. Other parts are usually oversized vintage caps and resistors just because I like to score this stuff from estate sales and make stuff with them. Probably my favorite germanium fuzz circuit. Anyone outside the US send me a message if you are interested.
