Based on the classic 3 transistor circuits of the golden era of fuzz, the Phoenix delivers the bite, body and sustain you’d expect. The Tone control is unique in that it interacts with the final clipping stage to not only adjust the tone but also vary the clipping from symmetrical to asymmetrical, giving a wide variation in harmonic content. The circuit is very reactive to the input signal, making the guitar volume knob an expressive gain control. Media
