Thanks to its analog circuitry and three effect modes, the EBS MultiDrive SE impresses with a particularly harmonious overdrive sound for electric bass. In standard mode, the pedal delivers a sustain-extending overdrive that leaves the low frequencies untouched for a powerful sound thanks to the high-pass filter. In “Tubesim” mode, on the other hand, the EBS Multidrive impresses with a harmonic distortion sound whose authentic tube character adds a warm, natural compression and harmonic overtones, while the “Flat” mode feeds the entire frequency range to the gain stage. The degree of distortion can be adjusted via the Drive control, while Volume regulates the output volume.

Das Pitchfork von EHX ist neben dem Whammy und dem TC Electronic Sub ‚N‘ up das wahrscheinlich beliebteste Pitch-Pedal, das es auf den Pedal-Boards der Welt gibt. Von einem Bekannten, der sich ausgiebig mit dem Löten von Pedalen beschäftigt, habe ich mir sagen lassen, dass der Bau eines wirklich sauber arbeitenden und verlässlich trackenden Pitch-Pedals alles andere als leicht ist. Und das kann man sich gut vorstellen: Viele Pitch-Pedale tracken irgendwie seltsam, klingen entweder im Clean- oder Gain-Bereich jeweils zu matschig und undifferenziert oder können mit bestimmten Frequenzbereichen nicht gut arbeiten. Selbst das von mir hochgeschätzte Red Panda Tensor hat viele Stärken – die Klarheit des Pitch-Effekts ist es nicht.

  Initially I did this project thinking of the hx one as the brain and a joker on the pedalboard, as I didn't know that it only supported one effect at a time.  After learning about this, he started a series of projects with the aim of thinking about how incredible it would be for Line6 to launch a pedal that combined the features of the hx one and the ampero mini or tc plethora x3.  How incredible would it be to have a multi-effects the size of the hx one, or smaller if possible, that had the Helix family library, send return at the sacrifice of stereo capacity, without splitting, and with the capacity for more than one effect at a time .  Using this example, which was designed to play in churches, catering to different musical genres, British/soft/ambient rock, gospel, groove, etc.  In this case, the core of the tone would be the tone hammer, the microsynth would be for the big choruses of songs ala Bethel/elevation etc. and instead of the hx one, imagine a multi-effect with the characteristics I mentioned before. For a Brazilian like me, this is great, because by planning an objective setup, it would be possible to find equipment with a high quality like the line6, but with a perfect cost-benefit ratio.
