Der „Protein 2 in 1 Overdrive“ ist das Ergebnis einer Zusammenarbeit zwischen David Brown und dem Gitarristen und Produzenten Adam Sniegowski. Nachdem Adam jahrelang auf Tour und im Studio mit Backline-Verstärkern gearbeitet hatte, deren Klangqualität sehr unbeständig sein konnte, wandte er sich an Dave mit dem Wunsch, einen Dual-Overdrive zu entwickeln, der mit jeder Backline, auf die er stoßen würde, großartig klingen würde. Sie begannen mit zwei Overdrive-Effekten, die sie liebten und die sich gut miteinander kombinieren ließen, die jedoch einige inhärente Probleme aufwiesen. Dave machte sich daran, diese Probleme zu beheben, ohne dabei die Seele der Originale zu verlieren.

The Protein 2 in 1 Overdrive is a collaboration between David Brown and guitarist/producer Adam Sniegowski.  After years on the road and in the studio using backline amps that could be very inconsistent,  Adam came to Dave wanting to create a dual overdrive that would sound great with any backline he encountered. They started with two drives they loved, stacked well together, but had a few inherent issues. Dave set out to fix those issues without losing the soul of the originals.

Emulating the lo-fi saturation and sputter of slashed amplifier cones, the analog fuzz circuit pays homage to early rock 'n' roll distorted tones. Harmonic texture and waveform clipping are governed by the dedicated Rip bias control, which introduces hard gating and voltage-starved behavior. Setting the Rip potentiometer counterclockwise yields smooth gating and quick fade-out, while turning it clockwise produces jagged, choking fuzz. Frequency response is sculpted via an active tilt-shift Tone control that boosts lows while cutting highs or brightens the top end with bass rolloff. Saturated sustain is dialed in from subtle vintage rasp to heavy modern distortion using the wide-range Fuzz knob. Mechanical true bypass switching ensures uncolored signal flow across downstream effects when disengaged.

A fully analog stereo loop switcher designed to break boundaries. 
Each stereo loop can be broken up into 2x mono loops with an Y-cable and in the looper used as 2x complete independent mono loops (Y-TRS-Cables). As these cannot be displayed in this tool (but often used to double the loops on big boards) we configured in this tool 3 stereo connections as 6x mono loops.

Jede Stereo-Loop kann mit einem Y-Kabel in zwei Mono-Loops aufgeteilt und im Looper als zwei völlig unabhängige Mono-Loops genutzt werden (Y-TRS-Kabel). Da diese Konfiguration in diesem Tool nicht angezeigt werden kann (aber oft genutzt wird, um auf großen Boards die Anzahl der Loops zu verdoppeln), haben wir in diesem Tool drei Stereo-Verbindungen als sechs Mono-Loops konfiguriert.

Der Morning Glory Clean ist eine konsequente Weiterentwicklung des klassischen Morning Glory Overdrives. Ziel war es, Transparenz, Dynamik und Anschlag weiter zu verbessern, ohne den vertrauten Charakter zu verlieren. Grundlage ist eine komplett neu entwickelte Schaltung mit parallelem Clean-Blend in Studioqualität, die Obertöne, leichte Kompression und Durchsetzungskraft des Overdrives mit dem vollen Bass- und Dynamikumfang des Clean-Signals kombiniert.

Der Clean-Regler arbeitet nicht als einfacher Mischregler, sondern ist integraler Bestandteil der Schaltung. Ein Doppelpotentiometer sorgt dafür, dass Clean- und Drive-Signal über alle Gain-Einstellungen hinweg proportional und phasenstabil zusammenlaufen – ohne Lautstärkesprünge. Der Tone-Regler wirkt ausschließlich auf den Overdrive-Pfad, das Clean-Signal bleibt jederzeit unverändert. Eine ±9V-Doppelversorgung bietet deutlich mehr Headroom als klassische Bluesbreaker-Schaltungen und ermöglicht einen klaren, offenen Sound bei jeder Lautstärke.

Der Morning Glory Clean eignet sich als erste Overdrive-Stufe, als dynamischer Always-On-Sound, vor Verzerrern oder Delays sowie vor Amp-Modelern. Auch für Bass ist er dank des Clean-Blend-Reglers flexibel einsetzbar. Das Pedal richtet sich an Spielerinnen und Spieler, die keinen radikal neuen Klang suchen, sondern maximale Qualität, Direktheit und sofort nutzbare Sounds ohne überflüssige Funktionen.

The Morning Glory Clean is a logical evolution of the classic Morning Glory overdrive. The goal was to further improve transparency, dynamics, and attack without losing its familiar character. At its core is a completely redesigned circuit with a studio-quality parallel clean blend, combining the harmonics, subtle compression, and punch of the overdrive with the full bass and dynamic range of the clean signal.

The clean control isn't a simple mix control; it's an integral part of the circuit. A dual potentiometer ensures that the clean and drive signals blend proportionally and in phase across all gain settings—without any volume jumps. The tone control affects only the overdrive path; the clean signal remains unchanged at all times. A ±9V dual power supply provides significantly more headroom than classic Bluesbreaker circuits, delivering a clear, open sound at any volume.

The Morning Glory Clean is suitable as a first overdrive stage, as a dynamic always-on sound, before distortion or delay pedals, and before amp modelers. Thanks to the clean blend control, it's also versatile for bass. This pedal is aimed at players who aren't looking for a radically new sound, but rather maximum quality, directness, and immediately usable sounds without unnecessary features.
