Description
The Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer is a seminal analog overdrive pedal originally released in the late 1970s and manufactured by Maxon. Its circuit is famous for a prominent mid-range frequency boost and symmetrical clipping, which helps guitar solos cut through a dense band mix. The reissue model faithfully retains the original JRC4558D IC chip, which is widely credited with providing its characteristic warm and creamy tube-like saturation. It features a simple three-knob interface for Overdrive, Tone, and Level, along with a distinctive square footswitch. Used extensively by legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, it remains a foundational tool for blues and rock guitarists seeking organic gain.Media
