Fender has expanded their line of ruggedly built pedals considerably over the past two years. New to their line of tube-based pedals, the MTG: LA Tube Distortion joins their two other tube-based pedals (see our review of the Tube Tremolo). And while overdrive pedals may seem to be a dime a dozen, this particular pedal was designed in collaboration with famed amp builder, Bruce Egnater (If you don’t know who Bruce Egnater is, visit the Egnater Amps website and read up).

MTG Tube Distortion

Du wünschst dir einen richtig brutalen High-Gain-Tone, den du vielseitig feintunen kannst? Das Full Moon Distortion Pedal zaubert dir abgefahrene Verzerrungs-Varianten. Unter dem Texture-Schalter stecken symmetrische/unsymmetrische Clipping-Effekte. Der Bite-Schalter liefert den nötigen Biss und verschiebt die oberen Mitten und Obertöne, damit man deinen Anschlag mit dem Plektrum deutlicher hört. Für den Feinschliff sorgt der 3-Band-EQ, wobei du die Höhen zusätzlich mit dem Regler für Hi-Treble abstimmen kannst. Mit dem zweiten Fußschalter bekommst du bei Bedarf knurrige +12 dB am Ende des Signalwegs dazu.

A high-gain distortion featuring an always useful boost with separate footswitch (delivering up to 12db of gain), this pedal sports a lot of tone shaping goods, including a four way EQ section (with a “Hi Treble” knob on top of your regular Treble one, which is a low pass filter that can tame the sizzling highs) and Bite and Texture toggle switches – the latter delivering symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping for the true tone connoisseurs.

Mit dem Santa Ana Overdrive hat Fender ein Zerrpedal der Extraklasse im Programm. Für das Schaltungsdesign ist der Bass- und Elektronikspezialist Aguilar verantwortlich. Herausgekommen ist ein vielseitiges Overdrive/Boost Pedal mit überzeugendem Sound. Die Schaltung basiert auf einer J-FET Stufe, die mit intern hochtransformierter Spannung betrieben wird. Dadurch wird ein sehr großer Headroom erreicht, das Pedal reagiert sehr gut auf das Volumepoti der Gitarre und die Anschlagsstärke. Die Boostfunktion ist umschaltbar - es wird entweder ein Gain- oder ein Level Boost ermöglicht. Mit dem Voicing Schalter kann der Grundcharakter des Santa Ana's dem verwendeten Amp angeßaßt werden. Wie alle Fender Pedale dieser Serie verfügt der Santa Ana Overdrive über ein Magnetbatteriefach und eine abschaltbare Potibeleuchtung zum Stromsparen.

MOOER hat seine neueste Effektpedal-Innovation vorgestellt: den Vocal-Prozessor MVP1 AUTUNER. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten MOOER-Produkten ist dieses Pedal in erster Linie für den Einsatz mit Gesang konzipiert und bietet eine präzise Tonhöhenkorrektur und außergewöhnliche Funktionen zur Verbesserung von Gesang. Dennoch hat MOOER seine Hauptzielgruppe nicht vergessen, und so bietet AUTUNER auch viele Funktionen, die Gitarristen interessieren werden. 

Da das Pedal in erster Linie auf Gesang ausgerichtet ist, verfügt das Gerät über mehrere Funktionen, die speziell für die Verwendung von Mikrofonen entwickelt wurden. Dazu gehören XLR-Eingang und Ausgang sowie die Unterstützung von 48 V Phantomspeisung, so dass das Pedal sowohl dynamische als auch Kondensatormikrofone unterstützt. AUTUNER verfügt jedoch ebenfalls über einen Standard-¼"-Gitarreneingang und Gitarrenausgang sowie über eine praktische Fußschaltersteuerung zum Umschalten zwischen kombinierten oder individuellen Signalen.

Die Tonhöhenkorrekturfunktionen von AUTUNER sind äußerst vielseitig. Mit einer LED-Taste kann der Benutzer mit Flat, Warm und Bright die Klangfarbe des Gesangs beeinflussen, die jeweils durch eine andere Farbe angezeigt wird. Sobald eine Klangfarbe ausgewählt wurde, kann mit dem "Korrektur"-Regler die Empfindlichkeit der Tonhöhenkorrektur eingestellt werden. Durch Drücken und Halten des linken Fußschalters kann der Anwender den Vocal-Synthesizer-Modus der Tonhöhenkorrektur aktivieren.

MOOER has unveiled its latest effect pedal innovation, the MVP1 AUTUNER vocal processor. Unlike most of MOOER’s products, this pedal is designed primarily for use with vocals, offering precise pitch correction and exceptional vocal enhancement features. However, MOOER hasn’t forgotten about its primary audience, so AUTUNER still provides features that will interest guitarists.

Due to the pedal’s primary focus on vocals, the device includes several features specifically designed for microphone usage. This includes XLR input and output, in addition to support for 48V phantom power, ensuring that the pedal supports both dynamic and condenser microphones. However, AUTUNER also includes standard ¼” guitar inputs and outputs, along with convenient footswitch control to switch between mixed or individual signals.

The pitch correction features behind AUTUNER are highly versatile. With an LED button, users can choose between flat, warm, and bright vocal tones, each indicated by a different color. Once a tone has been chosen, the 'correction' dial can be used to define the sensitivity of the pitch correction. Users can also press and hold the left footswitch to trigger the pitch correction’s vocal synthesizer mode.
