Es widmet sich der Erzeugung von Rückkopplungen, die zwar zum Repertoire jedes gepflegten (Rock-) Gitarristen gehören, aber üblicherweise nur mit entsprechender Lautstärke und der Interaktion zwischen Amp, Box und Gitarre möglich sind. Mit dem E-Bow, der seit Mitte der 70er Jahre erhältlich ist, gibt es bereits ein Werkzeug, das die Saiten per Magnetfeld beliebig lang in Schwingung versetzt, indem es über die gewünschte Saite gehalten wird. Oder den Sustainer von Fernandes, ein Pickup, der ebenfalls die Saiten zum Schwingen bringt, wenn er per Schalter dazu aufgefordert wird. Und natürlich muss beim Umbau der Gitarre einer der vorhandenen Tonabnehmer dem Sustainer weichen.

Dabei geht die DI-E gegen Störungen des eingehenden Tonsignals auf gleich zwei Arten vor. Zum einen symmetriert die Box das anliegende unsymmetrische Signal, damit es auf langen Kabelwegen ohne Einstreuungen ans Ziel gelangt. Zum anderen durchbricht ein Ground-Lift-Schalter Masseschleifen. Besonders starke Eingangslevel kann die DI-E, da sie mit einem entsprechenden Umschalter ausgestattet ist, ebenfalls verarbeiten. Was sie sonst noch so drauf hat, verrät ein Blick aufs Gehäuse.

The improved RockBoard® MODs V2 are simple all-in-one patchbays for RockBoard pedalboards with a new, refreshed design, and compact housing.
