Der Electro-Harmonix Octave Multiplexer ist ein monophoner, analoger Sub-Oktav-Generator. Er erzeugt tiefe, bassige Töne eine Oktave unterhalb der gespielten Noten. Im Gegensatz zu polyphonen Oktav-Pedalen ist er darauf ausgelegt, einzelne Noten zu verfolgen, und kann beim Spielen mehrerer Noten einzigartige, glitchy Effekte erzeugen. Er verfügt über einen "Hi Filter"- und einen "Lo Filter"-Regler, um den Sub-Oktav-Sound zu formen, sowie einen "Blend"-Regler, um das Effektsignal mit dem trockenen Signal zu mischen. Er befindet sich in einem robusten Die-Cast-Gehäuse.

The Octave Multiplexer is a monophonic octave pedal, meaning it works best with single notes. It can struggle with cords or complex harmonies, often producing glitchy or warbling sounds when used with multiple notes.
