Der BOSS CH-1 Super Chorus ist ein klassisches Modulationspedal, das seit 1989 ein fester Bestandteil der BOSS Compact-Serie ist. Das EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) Life Pedal V3 bietet Distortion, Boost und einen regelbaren Octave-Up Effekt in einem kompakten Effektpedal. Die 'Amplitude' Sektion des Pedals basiert auf dem klassischen 'White Face' Distortion Pedal, die Schaltung wurde jedoch um drei wählbare Clipping-Modi erweitert. Die erste Position (No Diode OpAmp Drive) bietet einen satten Drive bei maximalem Volume. Die zweite Position nutzt zwei Silizium-Dioden und eine LED in einer asymmetrischen Clipping-Konfiguration und erzeugt einen leicht komprimierten, smoothen Crunch, der an einen übersteuerten Verstärker erinnert. Die dritte Position nutzt zwei Silizium-Dioden und erzeugt den klassischen 'White Face' Sound. Die Octave-Up Sektion arbeitet komplett analog und lässt sich über einen Regler oder ein optionales Expression Pedal stufenlos mit der Verzerrung mischen. Der monophone Effekt arbeitet am 'saubersten' mit einzelnen Noten oberhalb des 12. Bundes, die über den Neck Pickup gespielt werden. Akkorde erzeugen einen chaotischen, 'scheppernden' Sound. Dreht man den Octave-Regler voll auf erzeugt das Sunn O))) Life Pedal V2 einen dreckigen, wütenden Fuzz-Sound, der an das Super Fuzz erinnert. Die 'Magnitude' Sektion ist ein MOSFET Booster, der Röhrenverstärker in die Sättigung treibt. Der Booster arbeitet komplett clean und fügt dem Signal selbst keine Verzerrung hinzu, bietet dafür aber ein extrem hohes Output Level um das Front End des Amps zu pushen. Der Signalweg geht Octave > Distortion > Boost, dabei lassen sich beide Sektionen unabhängig voneinander nutzen.

The EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) Life Pedal V3 offers distortion, boost and an adjustable octave-up effect in a compact effects pedal. The 'Amplitude' section of the pedal is based on the classic 'White Face' distortion pedal, but the circuitry has been expanded to include three selectable clipping modes. The first position (No Diode OpAmp Drive) offers a rich drive at maximum volume. The second position uses two silicon diodes and a LED in an asymmetrical clipping configuration and produces a slightly compressed, smooth crunch reminiscent of an overdriven amp. The third position uses two silicon diodes and produces the classic 'white face' sound. The Octave-Up section is completely analogue and can be mixed with the distortion via a knob or an optional expression pedal. The monophonic effect works 'cleanest' with single notes above the 12th fret played through the neck pickup. Chords produce a chaotic, 'clanging' sound. Turning the Octave control all the way up, the Sunn O))) Life Pedal V2 produces a dirty, angry fuzz sound reminiscent of the Super Fuzz. The 'Magnitude' section is a MOSFET booster that drives tube amps into saturation. The booster works completely clean and adds no distortion to the signal itself, but offers an extremely high output level to push the front end of the amp. The signal path goes Octave > Distortion > Boost, and both sections can be used independently of each other.

Die Walrus Audio Julia ist ein komplett analoges Chorus/Vibrato-Pedal, das mit einigen Besonderheiten aufwarten kann. Obwohl es sich bei den beiden um alteingesessene Standard-Effektsounds handelt, versteht es der amerikanische Boutique-Hersteller, mit einigen Extras jenseits der Norm Interesse zu wecken.
So auch bei der Julia, bei der beispielsweise fließend mit einem Blend-Regler zwischen Chorus und Vibrato gewechselt werden kann. Dazu lässt ein Schalter die Wahl, den LFO zu Sinus- oder Dreieck-Wellenformen zu überreden. Was diese Funktionen klanglich bewirken, schauen wir uns im Folgenden an.

Das Grand Orbiter Phaser-Pedal ist umschaltbar von Phaser- auf Vibrato-Effekte und verfügt über einen Dreifach-Modulationsbereich-Schalter sowie einen LFO-Kill-Switch, um den Effekt alternativ auch manuell, als feststehendes Resonanzfilter "durchstimmen" zu können. Der Dreifach-Modulationsbereich-Schalter bietet die Modi Slow Sweep, Fixed Resonance und Fast Sweep. Mit dem Master-Rate-Regler lässt sich die Geschwindigkeit in den verschiedenen Modi feinabstimmen. Zudem funktioniert der Fußschalter als Standard Latching Schalter als auch als Momentary Switch, sodass du den Effekt immer nur genau so lange nutzen kannst wie du ihn brauchst. .Der Grand Orbiter verfügt über einen True Bypass und wird in Handarbeit in Ohio/USA hergestellt. The Grand Orbiter is a four stage analog phaser that offers classic and unconventional phaser and vibrato sounds, it can go from stationary and resonant to fast and swirly. The Grand Orbiter can be turned from phaser to vibrato via a dedicated switch and features a three way toggle switch to select between the ranges of modulation. One of these ranges, kills the LFO and allows the Grand Orbiter to work as a fixed resonant filter. The three ranges offer the following modes: Slow Sweep, Fixed Resonance and Fast Sweep. The Rate control allows to fine tune the speed of the LFO in each one of the modes. It can be activated in standard latching operation or in momentary operation, by just holding the footswitch down for as long as you'd use the effect. The Grand Orbiter is a True Bypass pedal and is hand made in Ohio, USA. The Grand Orbiter V3 uses silent relay-based soft touch switching. Audio will not pass without power.

The Dispatch Master V3 is a delay and reverb pedal, whose effects can be used independently or simultaneously. It has 1.5 seconds of delay time and a dynamic reverb that goes from natural and roomy to cavernous and deep. It features controls for Time, Repeats, Reverb and Mix and it's true bypass. The V3 version features the new Flexi-Switch™ Technology, which allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching-style switching. It's based on the silent relay-based soft touch switching! It works by pressing and holding the footswitch for as long as the effect it's been used, releasing it, and resuming for dry sound. To use the Dispatch Master as a normal effects pedal, press the switch once to activate and again to bypass. The Dispatch Master V3 is hand made in Ohio, USA.

Der EarthQuaker Devices Plumes basiert auf dem legendären grünen Overdrive Pedal, das seit Jahrzehnten als Industriestandard gilt. Im Zusammenspiel mit einem guten Röhrenverstärker erzeugt der Plumes eine warme, transparente Sättigung. EarthQuaker verzichtet auf den bewährten JRC4558 OpAmp und die BJT Buffer und ersetzt sie in der Schaltung durch Low Noise JFET OpAmps für einen präziseren Sound mit deutlich geringerem Grundrauschen. Mit 10 Megaohm Eingangsimpedanz bietet das Pedal einen wunderbar klaren, detaillierten Sound. Der Arbeitsbereich des Tone-Reglers wurde ebenfalls angepasst um mit einem satteren Low End ein breiteres Spektrum an möglichen Sounds zu bieten. 

Zusätzlich bietet der Plumes drei wählbare Clipping-Modi um den Sound des Pedals an möglichst viele Stilrichtungen und unterschiedlichstes Equipment anpassen zu können. Mode 1 bietet symmetrisches Clipping, basierend auf einem Paar LEDs. Das Setting bietet den sattesten Crunch und den klassischen Sound eines übersteuerten Röhrenverstärkers. Mode 2 ist ein Clean Boost ohne Soft Clipping, perfekt um den Clean Sound im Mix nach vorne zu bringen oder den Preamp eines Verstärkers in die Sättigung zu fahren. Mode 3 nutzt asymmetrisches Clipping mit Silizium Dioden und klingt am ehesten nach einem originalen Screamer. Im direkten Vergleich liefert das Setting aber mehr Output und klarere Clean Sounds.

Darüber hinaus verfügt der Plumes auch über EarthQuaker Devices 'Soft Touch' Flexi-Switch-Funktion, mit der du im Handumdrehen zwischen Momentary Modus und traditionellem Latching wählen kannst.

The EarthQuaker Devices Plumes is based on the legendary green overdrive pedal, which has been the industry standard for decades. In combination with a good tube amp, the Plumes creates a warm, transparent saturation. EarthQuaker Devices relinquishes the trusted JRC4558 OpAmp and BJT Buffers and replaces them with low noise JFET OpAmps for a more robust and precise signal with a significantly lower noise floor. With 10 megohms of input impedance, the pedal provides a stronger signal with more clarity and chime. EarthQuaker Devices adjusted the cutoff of the tone control to deliver a more useful range of travel with more booming bass on the low end without sacrificing the cutting midrange and bright top end.

In addition, the Plumes offers three selectable clipping modes to ensure that it will work with a wide variety of gear and playing styles. Mode 1 is symmetrical clipping based on a pair of LEDs. This is the crunchiest setting the Plumes has to offer. When played through a clean amp, it will deliver that classic crunchy valve amp tone. Mode 2 is a clean boost without soft clipping and with straight OpAmp drive, perfect for pushing your clean tone out in front or driving the preamp of an already overdriven amp into breakup saturation. Mode 3 is an asymmetrical silicon diode arrangement like an original screamer but with more output and clean clarity.

The Plumes features EarthQuaker Devices relay-based 'soft touch' Flexi-Switch Technology for both momentary and latching footswitch operation.
