Der in den 80er Jahren erschienene PDS 2000 ist sozusagen der Vorläufer des Line 6 DL4. Er verfügt über drei Modi - Delay, Sampler und Trigger -, die den drei Funktionen des DL-4 entsprechen. Die Sampler-Funktion ist ein Zwei-Sekunden-Looper, der über den linken Fußschalter zugänglich ist. Im Trigger-Modus wird ein Fußschalter an den Trigger-Eingang angeschlossen und der Fußschalter spielt einen gespeicherten Loop nur einmal ab, aber man kann auch einen Click-Track oder eine Drum-Machine anstelle des Fußschalters verwenden, um das gespeicherte Sample zu triggern.

Released in the '80s, the PDS 2000 might be called the harbinger of the Line 6 DL4. It features three modes—delay, sampler and trigger—which are the three things the DL-4 does. The sampler function is a two-second looper accessible via the left footswitch. In trigger mode, a footswitch is connected to the trigger input, and the footswitch plays a stored loop just once, but you can use a click track or drum machine instead of a footswitch to trigger the stored sample as well.
