Description
This guitar effects pedal is a boutique distortion circuit built as a tribute to the classic ProCo RAT. It features hand-selected NOS germanium clipping diodes with high forward voltage to deliver a heavily granulated tone while maintaining a wide volume response. A prominent modification is the integration of a custom Reutz potentiometer, which places a 1k pot in series with the internal R4 resistor. This layout provides an adjustable focus point for frequency-specific clipping, ranging from high-frequency focus when turned clockwise to low-frequency focus when counter-clockwise. The unit is designed to offer exceptional versatility, performing cleanly in low-gain settings and transitioning smoothly into warm, edge-of-breakup sounds when rolling off the guitar's volume control.
