Description
The StepABout is a two-channel preamp and routing matrix for bass, guitar and Chapman Stick® instruments, conceived by Greg Howard and built in cooperation with BassLab. It incorporates two customised BassXX™ preamps (one per input channel) for extremely quiet and dynamic performance. A simple switch matrix of four routing switches allows each input to be sent to either or both outputs (A and B), or bypassed entirely, enabling independent instrument equalizing and switching between processing lines without unplugging. The tuning/headphone jack (with independent volume) remains active even in full bypass. Each input includes a three-band EQ: a bass shelving band, a sweepable midrange band, and a high band (up to +15 dB boost) for articulation and air without introducing noise; EQ can be bypassed per channel by pulling up the treble knob.Media
