Der PastFx Revolution ist eine originalgetreue Nachbildung und Erweiterung des vierstufigen Overdrive- und Distortion-Effekts Buffalo FX Evolution, der ursprünglich von Pete Cornishs G-2 Distortion-Pedal inspiriert wurde. Der Revolution hat eine leicht düstere Stimme, brütet mit Plexi-gefärbter Angst und ist in der Lage, Töne zu erzeugen, die von knackigem Overdrive und beißender Verzerrung bis hin zu brennenden Lead-Läufen reichen, die mit einem Hauch von Muffigkeit geschmiert sind. Obwohl sich reichlich Grit und Sättigung einstellen lassen, gibt es reichlich Spielraum, um das Biest zu zähmen oder einfach seinen Klangcharakter zu verfeinern, um es an jedes Rig und verschiedene klangliche Anwendungen anzupassen. Im gesamten mittleren bis hohen Gain-Bereich bleibt der Effekt musikalisch und hat ein geringes Grundrauschen. Wir haben den internen Dip-Schalter (jetzt extern!) verbessert, der es dem Benutzer ermöglicht, zwischen der „Stock“-Originalschaltung und dem „Boost“-Modus zu wählen, der die helleren Tonfrequenzen im Ansprechverhalten des Pedals akzentuiert, um einen moderneren Sound zu erzielen, der den Revolution wirklich auf die nächste Stufe bringt.

The PastFx Revolution is a faithful recreation and expansion of the Buffalo FX Evolution four-stage overdrive and distortion, an effect originally inspired by the Pete Cornish G-2 distortion pedal. Voiced with a slightly dark disposition, the Revolution broods with Plexi tinged angst and is capable of producing tones that span from crunchy overdrive and biting distortion to searing lead runs smeared with shades of muffy wooliness. Although plenty of grit and saturation can be dialed in, there is ample room to tame the beast or simply fine-tune its tonal character to accommodate any rig and various sonic applications. Throughout the sweep of its medium to heavy gain range the effect remains musical, with a low noise floor. We have upgraded the internal dip switch (now external!) mod that allows users to select between the “Stock” original circuit or “Boost” mode, which accentuates brighter tonal frequencies in the pedal’s response for a more modern sound that really brings the Revolution to the next stage.

Revolution

The PastFx Preamp Crunch Plus is an expansion of the PastFx Preamp Crunch Classic, which is the isolated preamp from our Chorus Ensemble in its own enclosure. Like the Classic, the pedal features a high/low signal switch, as well an on/off switch to activate or deactivate a buffer in the circuit. The standard Level Control, which determines the amount of crunch in the preamp signal, shapes the overall tone, gain level, and volume output of the effect. The Plus (+) version features an additional Master Control, allowing players to adjust the overall volume to compensate for higher gain settings on the Level Control, or to achieve unity gain at any point in the Level sweep. With the Master Control set fully clockwise, the Preamp Crunch Plus operates with the same stock circuit as the Preamp Crunch Classic, characterised by its warm, chimey crunch, saturation, and natural compression as the Level Control is engaged. However, turning the Master Control counter-clockwise will steadily lower the pedal’s volume floor, offering the ability to crank the Level up without fear of waking the neighbours!

Preamp Crunch Plus

The PastFx TD-Y is a faithful reproduction of the now discontinued Buffalo FX TD-X Equaliser and Gain Booster pedal, which itself was inspired by a popular valve-powered overdrive favoured by several notable rock artists during the 1980s and ‘90s. The TD-Y has been produced in a smaller, pedalboard-friendly enclosure, and made with the same careful attention to detail and high-quality components as the pedal upon which it is based. It is a highly tweakable and useful tone sculpting tool that can be set to act as a potent equaliser, a clean or dirty boost, or as a satisfyingly rich and complex overdrive. There is plenty of headroom on tap to allow players to generate great tones from the pedal alone or by using it to push their amplifiers over the top. The PastFx TD-Y can go from beautiful, blooming low gain creaminess all the way up to medium gain distortion and early British amp characteristics, especially working in tandem with an amplifier’s character and playing environment.

TD-Y Overdrive

The PastFx Chorus Ensemble Deluxe (CED) is based upon the Holy Grail of Chorus pedals, The BOSS® CE-1. First released in 1976 it became famous for lush Chorus and Leslie effect Vibrato.

The CED is attractively priced and of compact size. It is approximately 1/3 of the size and weight of an original. At 40yrs of age, original units can develop reliability issues and require capacitor replacement and extensive servicing. Unmodified working originals are becoming harder to find and are expensive. The CED requires no fuses and is not powered by mains voltage. With today’s advancements in technology, the CED operates off the same bipolar voltages as The BOSS® CE-1, however it only requires standard 9vdc pedal power supply.

Chorus Ensemble Deluxe

The PastFx Elastic Mattress is our original spin on the famed “V2” version of the Electric Mistress pedal made by Electro-Harmonix in the mid to late 1970s, and famously used in live and studio recordings of David Gilmour as both a solo artist and with Pink Floyd. We have created a pedal that captures the unmistakable lush yet articulate base and swooshing glitz that characterises the original Mistress, but without any of the limitations of the original… and with a lot more control on tap. Indeed, there's quite a lot in common, sonically, with the aural qualities associated with the V2 Electric Mistress—definitely capable of more subtle chorusy flanging, with slightly less saturation and better overall note definition than later EM models. Our Elastic Mattress, true to its name, bends into one’s playing with pillowy grace. In doing so, it retains the unmistakable core tone, vibe, and texture that Mistress lovers and seekers desire. And let’s not forget that our Elastic Mattress can get downright funky, trippy, and wild if subtlety isn't the player’s forte. More modern EM tones are in there with some tweaking, but the pedal excels with its generous range of usable chorus and flanging depth. We believe that this is an extremely versatile EM-style flanger which requires limited pedalboard real estate!

Players will find the familiar external rate, range, and color knobs, but we've also added a blend knob for controlling wet/dry ratio. In addition to the standard EM Matrix feature, which can be accessed by switching its toggle right (towards the corresponding blue LED), we have added a bright switch toggle that allows players to choose between our stock setting or a custom value set by an internal trimpot, allowing players the ability to dial brightness to taste and switch between two presets. There is also an internal trimpot to set the effect's volume level, so you can dial it in to unity gain or even boost your signal when engaged. Altogether, our Elastic Mattress flanger offers all the expected pleasures and sounds of the original EM, but with lots of ability to shape and control the effect in unprecedented ways, in a highly intuitive, compact box. We invite all-comers to lay down a groove on the Elastic Mattress!  :)
