The Rabid Mammal V2.

Previously available as customshop version called the Rabid Mammal GREEN. The v2 has all stock original Rabid Mammal tones with the addition of three toggles for alternate tonal shaping.

The boost section is a Witch Boost, now with added GRN low gain switch. This is a little less compressed giving a more solid and larger sonic boost.
The fuzz section is a partially stripped Supreme, utilizing the Pharaoh tonestack for blasted mids and LED or mosfet clipping. The addition of two toggles give alternate GREEN tones on the tone controls.
The left RED/GRN toggle gives a different mid anchor point to allow for mid scooping and the right RED/GRN tone toggle allows for a deeper cut into the mids. Using these two you can totally hollow out the meat and mids giving an extremely wide range of available mid control.

The Rabid Mammal was developed for Matt Pike of Sleep/High on Fire. Loose dark and fuzzy until the boost is engaged, then you’ll get a super thick yet edgy tone. The addition of the modified tones gives further flexibility to an already legendary device.The Rabid Mammal is not trying to recreate the past and of course, you won’t sound like Matt just because you have a Rabid Mammal. To get close, dial in your amp to a light organic distortion, think Malcolm Young. Then slam it hard with the Mammal. Tone IS in the fingers.

Most families have one. One who is different, all the while resembling the others. The Crown of Horns is that one in the Black Arts Toneworks family. While the Pharaoh is the utilitarian BMP, the LSTR is the wild and outrageous brother, the Crown is the youngster with different DNA, possibly the mailman’s. Living in the BAT family, The Crown of Horns shares traits of the Pharaoh and LSTR. The heart of the Crown is that of the OpAmp muff with the addition of a hybrid Pharaoh/LSTR tone section. Not quite as middy as the Pharaoh, not quite as scooped as the LSTR. The Crown sits squarely in the middle of the two. What makes the Crown very different is the Horns. The Horns switch will bypass the tone stack altogether for a huge, flat boost of volume. The result of this is highly interactive with your amp. Different amps and settings within the amps will give results ranging from a huge volume boost to a slab of fat saturation. Your creativity will find ways to utilize the Horns. As is standard in the Black Arts family, the Crown of Horns portrait includes a big bottom, loud mouth, aggressive personality and a bit of unruly FU

For musicians who love their guitar and amp’s tone. The Pharaoh pedal, while its roots and DNA are classic fuzz, has a few twists. The Pharaoh has a wide range of clipping and tonal options. From a cleanish boost, to a light OD, all the way to saturated fuzz. It sounds clear and natural, strong and bold. Your guitar sound isn’t high jacked, and your amp’s tone is not destroyed. The Pharaoh utilizes a dual tone control. The tone circuit is designed to suffer little volume loss, and give a natural sound. Your guitar and amp still sound like your guitar and amp. No drastic cuts or boosts. The tone section allows your amp to do the heavy lifting.

The Pharaoh starts with a hi/lo input switch, not unlike that of your favorite tube amp. Lo for more headroom/less clipping. Hi for less headroom/more clipping. A standard fuzz knob. A full range tone control with the addition of a high end compensation knob to allow you to replenish the highs cut by the tone control when boosting lows. The diode selector switch allows for different modes of clipping. Silicon Diodes for a raspy distorted sound, Diodes out for more volume /headroom and less clipping. Asymmetrical Germanium clipping diodes give a warm, tubey old school sound.

The two switches can take the Pharaoh from a clean/ fat boost to light OD which cleans up well with your guitar’s volume knob, all the way to hairy open fuzz. The Pharaoh utilizes signal caps large enough to pass all frequencies through, uncut. Again, a natural sound. This is especially important for bass player; you’ll get huge fuzz with NO low-end loss, and without squishy flubby tones.

The Pharaoh’s unruly brother, LSTR provides the opposite of the Pharaoh. The LSTR is an all-out rock machine tuned and blended to deliver the signature Black Arts low end along with more fuzz than mamma allows , unique tone controls and LSTR’s understated, striking beauty. LSTR is from the same BMP family, but unlike the Pharaoh, which is dialed back a little, LSTR is the action! LSTR is GO! LSTR can deliver fuzz bordering on distortion; tones go from the traditional muff scooped sound to the Pharaohish wide open tones. Point your tone knobs toward each other for the traditional BMP scoop, and away from each other to get into the more wide open Pharaoh tones.

The Son stays true to the patriarch of the Pharaoh line. All of what you achieve with the Gold Standard Pharaoh, you will achieve with the Son of Pharaoh,with one exception:You will save pedalboard space. The Son has a footprint of 2.75×5 inches saving space on today’s crowded pedalboards.

The Son of Pharaoh has all familiar features of the Gold Standard Pharaoh and same sonic abilities. ALL parts and components are pulled from the same bins as the Gold Standard Pharaoh and Pharaoh Supreme. Sounds the same. Feels the same under your fingers, amps react the same. Same King Pharaoh tone, smaller Son stature.
