Launched in 1976, the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble was not only the world’s first chorus effect pedal, but also the very first BOSS pedal. Three years later, this inventive new sound was squeezed into the blue CE-2 Chorus, and chorus pedals have remained in the compact lineup ever since. Four decades on, the spacious modulated tone of the signature BOSS effect is still loved by musicians everywhere. In 2016, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of BOSS innovation, the original analog chorus sounds are now reborn with the Waza Craft CE-2W. The CE-2W’s Standard mode faithfully recreates the classic CE-2 chorus sound, and adds an expansive new sound field with stereo output, which was unavailable in the mono CE-2. CE-1 mode fully reproduces the stereo chorus and vibrato sounds of the legendary CE-1, with the addition of variable chorus depth not available in the original pedal. To commemorate the birth of BOSS effects, the CE-2W is made exclusively in Japan, just as the original CE-1 and CE-2 were.

Je mehr du den Regler zurückdrehst, desto softer werden die Höhen, was einen warmen, weicheren Sound erzeugt, der sich besonders für Genre wie Jazz und Neo Soul eignet. Ganz egal, ob du eine Extraportion Biss oder Samt benötigst – mit dem CS-3 kannst du deinen Sound flexibel an deine Musik anpassen.

Compression evens out volume differences by lowering loud sounds and raising quiet ones. The CS-3's Attack knob lets you set how quickly the circuit makes this adjustment. Turning it clockwise preserves string attacks more strongly and creates a crisper, more percussive sound. The more you turn the knob counterclockwise, the more the signal peaks are reduced. The sustain knob controls the strength of the compression and ensures a tight sound and natural sustain without distortion.
The CS-3 is based on a powerful VCA circuit that provides stable and consistent compression with minimal noise. With its characteristic balanced response and compression characteristics, the pedal delivers transparent sound across all playing styles. Oft kopiert aber nie erreicht, rangiert das schwer zu findende, originale, Phase 90 bei den Sammlern alter Bodentreter ganz weit oben. Das Original - seit der Gründung der Firma Dunlop bis in die späten 70er Jahre erhältlich – definierte den klassischen Phase Shifter Sound und war in allen Musikstilen zu hören, egal ob Hard Rock, Jazz-Fusion oder Funk-Hits. Der nach dem Kultpedal der Firma designte Phaser kommt puritanisch mit einem Regler aus, über den der Phaser-Speed einstellbar ist. Eine rote LED über dem stabilen Fußschalter zeigt den Schaltstatus an. Das massive Spritzgußgehäuse verfügt über jeweils 1/4" Klinke In- und Out-Eingänge. Betrieben wird der Kulttreter mit einer 9V Batterie, die in einem leicht zugänglichen Batteriefach auf der Unterseite Platz findet. Es ist erhältlich in der ursprünglichen orangenen Farbe.

Genau wie das inzwischen nur noch auf dem Gebrauchtmarkt erhältliche M159 MXR Stereo Tremolo bietet MXRs Neuausgabe ebenfalls einen Stereo-Signalweg und kommt mit gleich sechs verschiedenen Tremolo-Modi ins Haus geschneit.

The MXR Tremolo's six tremolo waveforms represent classic and iconic sources of the effect as well as new sounds concocted by the MXR design team. First, the MXR style recreates the organic sound and pulse of the much beloved M159 MXR Stereo Tremolo. Next, the Bias style takes after the lush, power-soaked compression of tremolo effects that came equipped on early 1960s tube amplifiers. The Revo style, an original innovation, turns the optical tremolo waveform backwards for more exaggerated peaks and valleys. The Opto style emulates the smooth pulsating tremolo generated by photo cells in many popular amplifiers. Inspired by an iconic outboard effect, the SQR setting produces choppy, super pronounced tremolo. Finally, the Harm style recreates the trippy, phase-like tremolo produced by certain rare vintage amplifiers.

Entwickelt mit einer klaren Vision: kontrolliertes Chaos im Delay-Signal. Inspiriert von Klassikern wie dem Line 6 DL-4 sowie den atmosphärischen, schwebenden Delay-Texturen eines Bill Frisell, verbindet dieses Pedal musikalische Wärme mit unvorhersehbarer Dynamik.

Im Kern steht eine feste Delay-Zeit, die konstant bleibt, während zufällige Glitch-Ereignisse in Echtzeit in das Signal eingreifen. Diese verändern die Wiedergabegeschwindigkeit einzelner Wiederholungen, wodurch die Delays gebogen, gedehnt und verzerrt werden - und das direkt im Feedback-Weg. Das Ergebnis ist ein organisch wirkendes Delay, das sich ständig bewegt, ohne dabei aus dem Timing zu geraten.

Besonders spannend ist die Glitch-Regelung: Dreht man den Regler ganz zurück, erhält man ein klassisches, warmes Delay, das sich problemlos in jedes Setup einfügt. Je weiter man ihn aufdreht, desto häufiger treten Glitch-Ereignisse auf - bis zu einer Wahrscheinlichkeit von 50 % bei maximaler Einstellung. Jede dieser Klangveränderungen wird durch eine blinkende LED visualisiert, die im Takt der Glitches pulsiert.

Der Time-Regler deckt ein breites Spektrum von 20 Millisekunden bis hin zu 980 Millisekunden ab. Damit sind sowohl kurze Slapback-Delays als auch weitläufige Ambient-Flächen problemlos möglich. Der Repeats-Regler fügt mit zunehmender Intensität eine angenehme Modulation hinzu, während ein integrierter Limiter dafür sorgt, dass selbst bei maximalem Feedback keine unkontrollierten Ausbrüche entstehen. Neue Noten lagern sich sanft über bestehende Wiederholungen und schaffen dichte, sich langsam auflösende Klangteppiche.

Mit dem Mix-Schalter lässt sich der Delay-Anteil schnell anpassen - entweder dezent im Hintergrund bei 35 % oder deutlich präsenter bei 80 %. Trotz seiner kreativen Tiefe bleibt das Glitch Delay bemerkenswert intuitiv: Es gibt praktisch keine Einstellung, die nicht musikalisch funktioniert.

The new Glitch Delay from JHS Pedals' 3 Series is no ordinary delay - it's a creative tool for anyone wanting to experiment with time, repetition, and sonic movement. Developed with a clear vision: controlled chaos in the delay signal. Inspired by classics like the Line 6 DL-4 and the atmospheric, shimmering delay textures of Bill Frisell, this pedal combines musical warmth with unpredictable dynamics.

At its core is a fixed delay time that remains constant, while random glitch events intervene in the signal in real time. These alter the playback speed of individual repetitions, bending, stretching, and distorting the delays - directly in the feedback path. The result is an organic-sounding delay that is constantly in motion without ever losing its timing.

The Glitch control is particularly exciting: Turning the knob all the way back produces a classic, warm delay that blends seamlessly into any setup. The further you turn it up, the more frequently glitch events occur - up to a 50% probability at the maximum setting. Each of these sonic changes is visualized by a flashing LED that pulses in time with the glitches.

The Time control covers a wide range from 20 milliseconds to 980 milliseconds. This makes both short slapback delays and expansive ambient textures easily achievable. The Repeats control adds a pleasant modulation as its intensity increases, while an integrated limiter ensures that even at maximum feedback, no uncontrolled bursts occur. New notes are smoothly layered over existing repeats, creating dense, slowly dissolving soundscapes.

The Mix switch allows you to quickly adjust the delay level - either subtly in the background at 35% or significantly more prominently at 80%. Despite its creative depth, the Glitch Delay remains remarkably intuitive: there's virtually no setting that doesn't work musically.
