 Der Distortion III läuft nomen est omen unter der Gattung Distortion, während der GT-OD ein echter Overdrive ist. Da alle Produkte jedoch aus dem gleichen Haus kommen, ist es schon interessant, Parallelen und Gegensätze anzuzeigen. Alle Geräte kommen mit sehr stabilen Metallgehäusen daher, welche voraussichtlich für ein langes Leben sorgen werden. Alle Testkandidaten sind mit einem True Bypass, einer LED, phosphorisierenden Markierungsstrichen auf den Reglern ausgestattet und arbeiten wahlweise mit einem 9V Block oder einem Netzadapter. Der EP-25K verfügt über ein 25-kOhm-Potentiometer, das von einigen Geräten benötigt wird, im Gegensatz zum 10-kOhm-Potentiometer des Mission EP-1. Über die beiden isolierten Ausgänge lassen sich zwei Effekte gleichzeitig steuern.

The EP-25K features a 25K Ohm potentiometer that is required by some devices compared to the 10K potentiometer in the Mission EP-1. The two isolated outputs can be used to control two effects simultaneously.

Der Thorn Black Swamp - Flex Fuzz ist ein äußerst vielseitiges Fuzz-Pedal, das Ihnen volle Kontrolle über den Fuzz-Sound gibt. Mit einer breiten Palette von Kontrolloptionen, einschließlich Gain, Damping, Mid Freq, Volume, Bass, Mid und Treble, können Sie mit diesem Pedal alles von subtiler Wärme bis hin zu intensiven, zornigen Fuzz-Klängen fein abstimmen. Der Mid Freq-Regler sorgt für zusätzliche Flexibilität, indem er die Mittenfrequenz für den Mid Regler für noch mehr klangliche Vielfalt einstellbar macht.
Darüber hinaus verfügt das Pedal über zwei einzigartige Schalter. Mit Character S/N/H können Sie zwischen verschiedenen Fuzz-Charakteristika (Smooth, Normal oder Hot) wählen, während Sie mit dem Hard Clip O/I-Schalter zwischen weichem und hartem Clipping für unterschiedliche Verzerrungsgrade umschalten können.

The Thorn Black Swamp – Flex Fuzz has the control and versatility always desired. In addition to the Volume, gain, and 3 band EQ, you can now cut/boost specific mid frequencies, and the damping knob, tightens up the low end. These, of course help keep you heard in the mix, but we’ve also equipped the Black Swamp with two toggle switches. Character S/N/H (Smooth / Normal / Hot) lets you choose between different fuzz character settings, while the Hard Clip O/I switch allows you to toggle between soft and hard clipping for varying degrees of distortion.
All together this allows for great edge of break up tones at one end, world ending doom tones at the other, and an infinite amount of range in between, making The BLACK SWAMP an essential tool for guitarists who want to explore a wide range of fuzz tones with maximum control and flexibility.
