The charge pump lets the op-amp run with more headroom and allows for more quiet operation. The original RAT is known for a specific frequency response do to the inability of its IC to amplify quickly. Instead of chasing unicorns, the Backstabber uses filtering to emulate the frequency response. We are using a more modern IC which results in RAT-like tones that are tighter and more responsive.

Original signal is run through a highhead overdrive cirucit, Which can be used as a traditional clean blend, or parallel overdrive.

Based off a modern legend the Sonic Bronchitis is a pedal that clips its own power amp (LM386) to create amp-like distortion. With a JFET pre-amp stage, your signal gets boosted and clipped by the front end of the power amp. After the 386 there is another jfet stage to add some more harmonics and grit. These three stages create tube like overdrive with lots of dynamics, clarity and grind. Depending on your picking style, pick-ups, and gain settings you can go from bluesy overdrive to full blown armageddon. Yet, even at high gain, full chords remain clear and tight. Frequency response is designed for heavily
down-tuned guitars.

The foul boost offers 2 gain stages and active eq to dial in your tone. Up front is a low gain op amp stage that fattens the signal and offers a bit of compression. Active HIGH control boosts mids and above while the LOW control is 100Hz boost with a good amount of Q. Finally, the JFET stage gives your signal some harmonic grind and plenty of volume. GAIN control goes from cleanish to cranked amp style gain.
