Den Leslie-Effekt mit rotierenden Speakern kennt man von der Orgel, er gehört in der modernen Musik zum Standard. Mit dem Pinwheel verwirbelst du jetzt auch deinen Gitarrenklang auf diese Art. Zur Wahl stehen drei verschiedene Rotary Speaker Voices inklusive Vibratone, jeweils auf Slow/Fast umschaltbar. Der integrierte Overdrive verleiht dem Sound eine cremige, üppige Textur. Die Intensität steuerst du intuitiv per Anschlagsdynamik – je härter du spielst, umso stärker hörst du den Effekt.

The Leslie effect with rotating speakers is familiar from the organ and is standard in modern music. With the Pinwheel, you can now swirl your guitar sound in the same way. There is a choice of three different rotary speaker voices including vibrato, each switchable to slow/fast. The integrated overdrive gives the sound a creamy, lush texture. You can control the intensity intuitively via velocity - the harder you play, the stronger you hear the effect.

Es gibt viele Pedale, die einen Röhren-Breakup simulieren. Wir haben uns entschieden, keinen Röhren-Distortion nachzubauen, sondern echte Vakuum-Röhren einzusetzen. Das Herz des kompakten MTG Pedals besteht aus einer NOS (New Old Stock) US-made 6205 Vorstufenröhre. Ein 3-Band-EQ mit Tight-Schalter sowie zuschaltbarem Boost und eigenen Level- und Boost-Reglern ermöglicht kreatives Klangdesign mit dem Original-Röhrensound.

Fender has expanded their line of ruggedly built pedals considerably over the past two years. New to their line of tube-based pedals, the MTG: LA Tube Distortion joins their two other tube-based pedals (see our review of the Tube Tremolo). And while overdrive pedals may seem to be a dime a dozen, this particular pedal was designed in collaboration with famed amp builder, Bruce Egnater (If you don’t know who Bruce Egnater is, visit the Egnater Amps website and read up).

Hierfür wurde das Pedal mit lediglich zwei Reglern für Gain und Dynamics versehen, wodurch die Bedienung des Boosters spielend leicht von der Hand geht. Der Gain Regler agiert als Level Control, welcher grade im Overdrive die extra Portion Sustain liefert.

Als Clean Boost agiert der auf den Supa-Trem bzw. True-Path-ABY Modellen basierende Preamp äußerst klangneutral und ist im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Boosterpedalen angenehm zurückhaltend in den Höhen.

Dank unverwüstlichem Metallgehäuse und der kompakten Größe ist der Fulltone 2B Booster mehr als roadtauglich!

The Fulltone 2B is an amazing boost pedal, born from the “Boost” channel in our FD3 pedal. Soon after the FD3 came out I started getting a steady flow of emails asking if I could “please make that into a single channel Boost pedal!” So I crammed the circuit into the smallest possible enclosure 4.5" x 2.1" x 2.3" with battery tucked tightly inside and even engineered space-saving rear-mounted IN, OUT, and DC power jacks, and added an important feature not offered in the FD3.

2B Boost

In 1994, one Bill Finnegan (and two engineers from MIT) sat down and created the Klon Centaur, one of the most talked-about circuits of all time. While it was at its core an overdrive circuit, it boasted several innovations that put it ahead of the rest of the stuff out there. For one, it included a robust power supply that provided a theoretical 27 volts of headroom from a nine-volt supply. Perhaps more notably, the Centaur thrust the idea of dual-gang potentiometers into the groupthink of pedal development. While these weren’t cutting-edge tech in 1994, very few pedals utilized them. In fact, the Shin-Ei Uni-Vibe is one of the only popular pedals I can remember using one (C100K in fact).

The Maxon AF9 Auto Filter takes the most desirable auto-wah and swept filter effects and offers them up in a compact, user-friendly package. Opto-coupler circuitry produces the shimmering, watery filtering of legendary vintage units. Threshold and Peak sliders control the degree of effect; while Range and Drive switches determine range and direction of the filter sweep. Three selectable filter types (Low Pass, Band Pass, and Hi Pass) and a frequency range of 100 Hz – 4 kHz allow the AF9 to function with virtually any instrument or input signal.

My new Deluxe pedal has more gain! It really screams. Much more than the first version, but you can always tone it down if you like. Also, one very unique feature that I think will appeal to a lot of people is the “swappable” 8 pin dual inline op amp. You can basically make it your own signature drive by replacing the main drive chip with another of your choice! Also, there’s a phase reverse switch for the drive channel that gives tones a very different dimension. And a “boost” switch to kick the drive into a much higher gain. All exciting new features that will make it easier for players to fine tune this device to their own personal needs
