That's why we at Dunlop worked with Joe to develop the Joe Bonamassa Signature Cry Baby, specially engineered to fit in perfectly with Joe's system, from the way it looks to the way it sounds. On the outside, it sports a classy copper top with a smooth-finish black body. On the inside, it features large, vintage-style thru-hole components, a Halo inductor (for added harmonic content), an output buffer (to prevent impedance imbalance with vintage fuzz pedals), and a switch for true-bypass or non-true-bypass operation (Joe prefers non-True Bypass as it darkens the high end). With its huge vocal sweep range, this is one of the most expressive Cry Babys ever, and it's Joe's tool of choice to accentuate every soulful bend and bluesy wail. Der After Bias Regler des Carcosa Fuzz in Kombination mit den beiden Kippschalter-Stellungen schafft eine episch weite tonale Bandbreite von knusprig fettiger Schweineschwarte bis hin zum Rascheln von trockenem Pergament. Seine Vielseitigkeit macht das Carcosa Fuzz zum perfekten Kumpanen für angezerrte oder cleane Amps. True Bypass, Tonnen an Output, das Antlitz des “Königs in Gelb“ setzen das Carcosa in Szene für fuzzige Crazyness! Das DOD Carcosa Fuzz verfügt über eine (leicht) übertriebene Mid-Range und sein Treble Charakter stellt im Mix ganz weit nach vorne. Designt um sich gegen stahlharte Riffs durchzusetzen und auch beim Akkordspiel ungemeine Artikulation der einzelnen Töne zu bieten. Allerdings sind mit extremen Bias (AFTER) Einstellungen eine Menge abgefahren kranke Over-the-Top Sounds möglich. Nun nach langem Warten ist dieses einzigartige und langerwartete Fuzz auch in Europa erhältlich.

The DOD Carcosa Fuzz is a doorway into an alternate fuzz universe, where classic tones of legend coexist with splattered and shattered Pollock abstractions. Combining the Carcosa’s wide-ranging AFTER bias control with two toggle positions creates tones that range from porcine fatness to dessicated shards. This versatility makes the Carcosa Fuzz a good companion for dirty or clean amps. True bypass, tons of output, and the visage of the King in Yellow sets the stage for fuzzy madness. The DOD Carcosa Fuzz has an exaggerated mid-range and treble character that help it stand out in a mix. It has been designed to cut through a dense and heavy band but still have great note articulation with chords. However, when extreme bias (AFTER) ranges are selected many wild and over-the-top sounds are possible.

Dieser Effekt, der in den Achtzigern in einigen berühmten Gitarrenaufnahmen auftauchte, war damals für uns “normale” Musiker kaum erschwinglich. Aber diese Zeiten haben sich glücklicherweise geändert. Pitch-Effekte sind inzwischen im Effektangebot vieler Hersteller zu recht günstigen Kursen zu finden.

The EHX Pitch Fork transposes an instrument’s pitch over a +/- three octave range and features three modes which allow the pitch to be transposed up, down or both, simultaneously. The pitch shift amount can be set to a fixed interval or continuously varied by an expression pedal or control voltage.

Er benutzt es jetzt regelmäßig, aber wir haben bei der Version, die wir der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich machen, noch eins (oder zwei) besser gemacht... wir haben es so gestaltet, dass man die Subfrequenzen einstellen kann (wie beim Distortron) und dass man jeden Kanal in einen Super Hard-On™ umwandeln kann. Auf diese Weise kannst du das Pedal als zwei kaskadierte Distortrons, zwei kaskadierte Super Hard-Ons (wie ein Super Duper 2-in-1), oder eine Box of Rock mit Boost oder einen Super Hard-On in eine Box of Rock konfigurieren. Distortion/Boost-Himmel!

This pedal was originally designed for J.Mascis. He requested two Box of Rock™ pedals in one box with two stomp switches. He uses it regularly now, but we did one (or two) better with the one we’re releasing to the public... we made it so you can adjust the sub frequencies (like the Distortron), and you can convert either channel to a Super Hard-On™. In this way, you can configure the pedal to be two Distortrons cascaded, two Super Hard-Ons cascaded (like a Super Duper 2-in-1), or a Box of Rock with boost, or a Super Hard-On going into a Box of Rock. Distortion/boost heaven!

Dunlop baute das Dime Cry Baby Wah-Pedal auf der Grundlage des 535Q, nahm die Q-Control, den 6-Wege Range Schalter und den schalt- und regelbaren Boost, modifizierte die Sweep Range speziell nach den Bedürfnissen von Dimebag, fügte einen Regler für die max. Sweep Range und einen zweiten Output hinzu und installierte zwei Status LEDs an der Rückseite des Pedals, die den Zustand von Wah und Boost anzeigen. Als letztes Detail wurde die klassische Gummi-Matte auf der Oberseite durch Skateboard Skip Tape getauscht, damit das Pedal auch in Kontakt mit Feuchtigkeit absolut rutschfest bleibt.

Dimebag Darrell combined a cowboy’s swagger with high-gain riffs and squealing pinch harmonic-laden leads. One of the most significant elements of his sound and dynamics was the Cry Baby Wah, and at a time when wah pedals had fallen out of fashion, Dime flew his wah flag high. Armed with his hard-earned expertise and insight from years of touring, he helped Dunlop devise the most versatile wah in their lineup: The Dime Cry Baby from Hell Wah.

Work on this pedal first began some 20 years ago when Dime, a long-time user of the super customizable Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah, wanted even more freedom when setting up his rig on stage. Starting with the 535Q, Dunlop carried over its Q control, 6-way range selector, and adjustable kick-in boost. Next, Dunlop hot-rodded it with a wide sweep range for Dime to dig deep and fly high, a control to adjust the pedal’s toe-down frequency, an extra output for splitting your signal to a separate FX chain, and back-mounted LED indicators to conveniently show whether the wah is on and whether the boost is engaged. Finally, Dunlop replaced the standard rubber tread with skateboard skid tape so that your foot doesn’t slip on any spilled beverages.
